Husband's annual event, touring

Last Golden Week, my husband went on a four-day, three-night touring trip by himself, which is an annual event for consecutive holidays. During that time, my daughters and I went home to my parents' house. Until the day before he left. This time, I'm going with a Boxster, or maybe an SL."I was worried.

I usually go with my 981 Boxster GTS (MT), but I had never been far touring with my SL500 (R129) that I bought a few months ago.

I know it's fun to drive a Boxster because I've done it many times, but it's my first time to drive an SL, so I'd like to experience what it's like. But I prefer the Boxster for tight mountain roads...(-_-)"

He mumbled.

...Oh no, it's a luxurious problem, really.

After much deliberation, we decided to go by SL.

This time, a tour around the Chugoku region

This touring will beA journey along extensive farm roads in Yamaguchi, Shimane, Tottori, Hiroshima, and Okayama."So, the first course was to drive from my home in Hyogo Prefecture to Hofu in Yamaguchi Prefecture, and from there to return over a three-day period.(They looked for a place to stay last minute, so there were no vacancies at all, so they had to go through this process.)This is what it looks like on the map.

Akiyoshidai Karst Observatory and

Yoshida Shoin's Matsushita-murajuku, the

Through the karst road.

The next day, we went to Mt.

It's peaceful and beautiful. By the way, at times like this, my husband uses thePorsche watches.I'm going to put it on.

I really like Porsche.

Then, through the beautiful Okayama road, like the Nürburgring.

They went around the Sayo area in Hyogo Prefecture and came back. And as for the mileage and fuel consumption of this touring, please refer to the following

Distance traveled: Approximately 1,200 km from home to home
Fuel economy: approx. 10km/l on highways, 8km/l-9km/l on country roads

I was so happy to see him. Incidentally, at times like this, my husband often stays at a cheap hotel, around 5,000 yen per night including breakfast, and eats his meals at a convenience store.(something like this)

I told him, "If you're going all this way, why don't you stay at a hot spring ryokan and have some good food?

No, I don't need that. I don't need that. I don't care where there is covered parking and the facilities are adequate. The priority is the car! No car, no life!

I'm not sure what to say. Every time I hear such a statement from my husband, I, as his wifeI knew he was crazy...(-_-)"I am painfully aware of this (explosion).

Difference between SL and Boxster touring

1) SL is less tiring than Boxster.

The Boxster is a lot of fun, but the seat makes you feel like "Okay, let's drive! It's like driving with your shoulders inward all the time, so although it's fun to drive, it's not as fun to drive as it should be.As expected, he said, running more than 1,000 km a day tires his body.In comparison, he said, the SL seat was like a comfortable sofa, so he did not feel tired at all.

2) SL can be enjoyed in a relaxed manner without being in battle mode.

The Boxster is also a GTS with MT.Let's fire up the engine and go for it!"The mode is called "I'm not a fan of speeding". But although the SL does not feel like going too fast, it can still be fun even at a certain speed. The SL is especially great for driving on country roads in the countryside.

3) Boxster is good for mountain roads with tight corners.

He said that the tight mountain roads with tight corners are sometimes a bit difficult for him with the SL. At such times, he said, he missed his Boxster.

After all, which is better?

However, since both are convertible cars, it was very pleasant to drive while feeling the wind, and it seemed to be a great touring experience. Also, the SL has the advantages of the SL, and the Boxster has the advantages of the Boxster, and both have different advantages, soIf you're going touring, this is the way to go!"He said that it is not generally true that

But ideally, I'd like to see

How to go to the site by SL, change to a Boxster and run there, and come back by SL again.

(laugh) In the future, it would be fun to go touring with my husband in two cars as a couple.

  1. WATA

    Hello.
Both the husband, who goes on a long drive all by himself, and Mina, who sees him off and turns it into a blog post, are just too wonderful.
I saw the route map that you ran in SL, and it looks really crazy...no (sweat), but it looks like a really fun route.
That's it! I traced the road with a big nod of my head, thinking that they had chosen a road where they could run all over the place.
Incidentally, I was not able to do any car touring during this year's Golden Week, so I was even more envious when I saw this article (tears).

      Wata!
Thank you for your comment! My husband and I were talking about how Wata-san must have gone touring somewhere this holiday weekend, but he was disappointed this time...><
I'm definitely looking forward to another video of your long drive!
When I told my husband this morning that I had received a comment from Wata, he said, "I love it when Wata calls me crazy! He came to work looking quite happy and raring to go (laugh).
I mean, I need to work on my Boxster manual practice too... keep up the good work!
