As a result, I\u2019ve been hearing things like, <strong>\u201cOh! I know it! From my home, I get on the Sanyo Expressway and drive about 150km one way. Since I\u2019m used to round trips to Fuji Speedway, I thought, <strong>\u201cAh, 150km is nothing!\u201d<\/strong>\u2014I realize my sense of distance is totally warped (laughs).<\/p>\n<p>That day, I left with a 100% charge, and upon arrival, the battery was at 56%. My 2023 Taycan can travel about 390km on a full charge, so this kind of trip is no problem at all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"72\" data-end=\"141\">People often say, <strong>\u201cEVs have a short driving range, so it\u2019s worrisome.\u201d<\/strong> But honestly, how many people actually drive over 300km daily? If your round trip is within 300km, there\u2019s really no issue. It\u2019s a shame that the image of <strong>\u201celectric cars aren\u2019t suitable for long distances\u201d<\/strong> has spread so widely without basis.<\/p>\n<p>That day, I left quite early (arrived an hour ahead), so I did a quick charge at the nearest FamilyMart (90kW). <strong>These days, more FamilyMarts have fast chargers, and they\u2019re usually free,<\/strong> so it\u2019s great to relax with a coffee while charging.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36137\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GpvekVVasAAa0cv-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche Taycan\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"88\" data-end=\"198\">Along with range, people often say <strong>\u201ccharging EVs is a hassle.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"88\" data-end=\"198\">That might have been true in the past, but now fast chargers are increasing, and highway charging spots are usually available. Charging feels like a natural part of taking a break, so it\u2019s not inconvenient at all. Unlike having to \u201cgo fill up gas,\u201d charging fits smoothly into your routine, and honestly, I find EVs less troublesome.<\/p>\n<p>I hope more people come to understand this feeling.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Philosophy_Behind_the_Store_Design\"><\/span>The Philosophy Behind the Store Design<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It was a sunny day, almost hot. As rumored, I truly felt that Okayama is the \u201cLand of Sunshine.\u201d Even though I\u2019m known for bringing rain and storms, the weather was perfect\u2014proof of Okayama\u2019s sunny reputation.<\/p>\n<p>CARAD\u2019s shop was much larger than I imagined, with <strong>over 100 cars on site that day<\/strong> (usually even more). Seeing rows of sports cars and imported vehicles instantly lifted my spirits.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36142\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG_9962-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve always thought, <strong>\u201cI\u2019m not that much of a car enthusiast,\u201d<\/strong> but surrounded by my husband and friends who are hardcore car lovers, I realized that just by <strong>driving all the way to Okayama<\/strong> and <strong>getting excited by cool cars,<\/strong> I\u2019m actually a \u201ccar lover\u201d too.<\/p>\n<p>The store even has a photo studio. They have equipment and space to take beautiful videos and photos for delivery commemorations or used car listings.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36143\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG_9961-1280x960.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This time, they kindly took photos of my Taycan as well. (It was pretty dirty, but they even washed it\u2014thank you so much!)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36138\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/DSC7089-1280x958.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Taycan\" width=\"1280\" height=\"958\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The interior design of the store is also carefully crafted. The calm, hotel-like atmosphere was designed with the idea of <strong>\u201cmaking it easy for wives to visit as well.\u201d<\/strong> Indeed, even wives who <strong>aren\u2019t that interested in cars<\/strong> would feel comfortable coming along.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36144\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG_9939-1280x960.jpg\" alt=\"CARAD Okayama\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36145\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG_9941-1280x960.jpg\" alt=\"CARAD Okayama\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The company president, Mr. Sha, is in his early 30s. It\u2019s impressive that he\u2019s running such a large business at a young age, but I also learned a lot from their operations\u2014like how quickly they upload newly acquired cars online and how they visualize and share necessary information in real time.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m amazed\u2014I definitely need to learn from him.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36140\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/DSC7092-1280x958.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Taycan\" width=\"1280\" height=\"958\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At one point, Mr. Sha said, <strong>\u201cOur goal is to become the largest imported car dealer in the Chugoku-Shikoku region!\u201d<\/strong> When I asked, <strong>\u201cWhy do you want to expand so much?\u201d<\/strong> his answer was refreshingly simple:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cBecause cars are fun. I want many people to experience that joy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That said it all. Yes, cars are fun.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cars_Might_Not_Be_Essential_But_They_Enhance_Lifes_Quality\"><\/span>Cars Might Not Be Essential, But They Enhance Life\u2019s Quality<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"151\" data-end=\"297\">Especially cars like Porsches aren\u2019t absolutely necessary in life. Honestly, if you think about it calmly, you don\u2019t need one. <strong>Actually, even without thinking calmly, you don\u2019t need one (laughs).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"151\" data-end=\"297\">They cost money, take up space, and require maintenance and inspections. When I wasn\u2019t interested in cars at all, I would have immediately said, <strong>\u201cCars are just unnecessary.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"299\" data-end=\"427\">But everything changed once I experienced a \u201ccar with great driving performance.\u201d I\u2019m not saying you have to drive a luxury car, but when you drive a car with excellent handling, <strong>accelerating, cornering, and braking<\/strong> all feel precise and reassuring, as if your intentions are directly communicated to the car.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"299\" data-end=\"427\">When I felt this unity between car and driver during a 2015 Panamera test drive, I thought, <strong>\u201cDriving can feel this amazing! This is what my husband meant!\u201d<\/strong>\u2014my perspective changed completely.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"504\" data-end=\"630\">For me now, <strong>the car is my only place to be truly alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"504\" data-end=\"630\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36141\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/DSC7120-1-1280x958.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"958\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"504\" data-end=\"630\">In a space where no one else is around, without worrying about anyone, I just focus on the road ahead. (Well, I do check behind and to the sides too, lol.)<br data-start=\"567\" data-end=\"570\" \/>Everything moves at my own pace.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"504\" data-end=\"630\">There are moments when work, childcare, and housework make me feel like I\u2019m losing myself, but having this time alone driving helps me reset. <strong>Time with my beloved car is my precious \u201cme time\u201d and a source of richness in life.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"632\" data-end=\"745\">There\u2019s value that can\u2019t be measured by efficiency.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"632\" data-end=\"745\">That\u2019s why Mr. Sha\u2019s words, <strong>\u201cBecause cars are fun,\u201d<\/strong> really struck a chord with me.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_a_Taycan_Test_Drive_Changes_Your_Impression_of_EVs\"><\/span>How a Taycan Test Drive Changes Your Impression of EVs<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>On the way out, I let Mr. Sha test drive the Taycan. \u201c<strong>My first Taycan!<\/strong>\u201d \u201cWow, the interior feels so futuristic!\u201d \u201cThe acceleration is incredible!\u201d \u201cThe sound is like a spaceship!\u201d\u2014he gave me so many enthusiastic reactions that made me feel great.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-36148\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/\u30b9\u30af\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u30b7\u30e7\u30c3\u30c8-2025-05-01-20.38.50-1280x907.jpg\" alt=\"CARAD Okayama\" width=\"1280\" height=\"907\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hearing him say, <strong>\u201cMy impression of EVs has completely changed. Now I really want one,\u201d<\/strong> made me, self-proclaimed Taycan ambassador, incredibly happy.<\/p>\n<p>Many of CARAD\u2019s customers are people <strong>switching from Japanese cars to imported cars for the first time.<\/strong> Supporting such a big decision with trust and sincerity is no easy task.<\/p>\n<p>The car industry has recently faced criticism as the \u201cdark side of the car world,\u201d but I believe that <strong>honest, humble business builds trust<\/strong>, and continuing that is the most important thing.
