Washing a Panamera<\/h3>\n

Yesterday, I decided to take my Golf through an automatic car wash at a gas station before heading to my parents\u2019 house. I usually use an automatic wash for the Golf, but when it comes to the Panamera, I\u2019ve only ever opted for a hand wash at a gas station<\/strong>. I worry that I might scratch the paint if I wash it by hand without knowing what I\u2019m doing\u2014and the thought of an automatic car wash damaging it is just as unsettling.<\/p>\n

Still, I figured there must be Porsche owners out there who take their Panameras through automatic car washes<\/strong>. So I looked online, and\u2026<\/p>\n

Sure enough, I found one! lol<\/span><\/p>\n

According to their blog, a JAVA touchless car wash can wash a Panamera without any problems<\/strong><\/a>. That said, JAVA\u2019s touchless wash has a maximum vehicle size of 2.3 m tall, 5.0 m long, and 2.0 m wide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s cutting it close for a Panamera! ((\uff1b\uff9f\u0414\uff9f))<\/span><\/p>\n

Actually, the Panamera is over 5 meters long, so it\u2019s technically outside the stated limit.<\/p>\n

Apparently, though, people have used it without any problems, and their cars came out clean and scratch-free. Even so, I\u2019m still far too nervous to try it. The risk feels hard to justify when I keep thinking, \u201cWhat if it gets scratched?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u30fbWhat if the side mirror gets scraped with a horrible grinding sound?
\n\u30fbWhat if I pull too far to one side and scrape a wheel?
\n\u30fbWhat if the car is too wide and gets scratched on both sides?<\/p>\n

Even if I shouted, \u201cSomebody\u2014please help me!\u30fd(\uff40\u0434\u00b4\uff1b)\uff89,\u201d nobody would hear me with the windows shut. Just imagining myself helplessly watching as the Panamera\u2019s sides get scraped again and again is enough to make me feel faint.<\/p>\n

Tips for Hand-Washing Your Porsche<\/h3>\n

Hand-washing seems like the safer option, so I looked into how to wash my car by hand. From what I found online, the key to hand-washing is \u201cgentleness\u201d and \u201cefficiency.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u30fbChoose a car-wash shampoo with no abrasives (one of Amazon\u2019s best-selling non-abrasive car shampoos is Soft99 car-wash shampoo<\/a>).
\n\u30fbIf possible, use a wool wash mitt<\/a>.
\n\u30fbChoose a wash cloth<\/a> that\u2019s soft and highly absorbent.
\n\u30fbWork efficiently and quickly, minimizing how often you touch the paintwork.<\/p>\n

The Porsche Panamera has excellent paint protection, though, so a rinse with water alone is often enough for light dirt.
