Our own Taycan 4S Cross Turismo is also affected. This recall is due to a manufacturing defect that could potentially lead to a vehicle fire risk.<\/p>\n<p>According to Porsche\u2019s recall notice, &#8220;Some high-voltage batteries contain improperly manufactured battery modules, which may cause an internal short circuit within the battery module. In the worst case, this could lead to a thermal battery malfunction and possibly a fire.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That said, <strong>there have been zero reported incidents or accidents so far<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-35050\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/CleanShot-2024-12-17-at-17.25.30.jpg\" alt=\"Taycan Recall\" width=\"753\" height=\"516\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Details_of_the_Recall-Affected_Vehicles\"><\/span>Details of the Recall-Affected Vehicles<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This recall covers a total of 1,992 vehicles across two separate recall notices. The affected vehicles were manufactured between October 19, 2020, and February 29, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>A specific list of Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) for the affected cars is available on Porsche\u2019s official website. Additionally, a countermeasure program with vehicle self-diagnosis functionality will be installed using the dedicated tester.<\/p>\n<p>However, since preparing this program will take some time, as a temporary measure, Porsche will request users to bring their vehicles in regularly for battery inspections and will <strong>inform them to limit the charging level to 80%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This approach clearly shows Porsche\u2019s commitment to prioritizing customer safety.
