Initially, I was leaning toward GT Silver, but after reviewing the other Porsches I own, which are mostly in subdued colors like white, gray, navy, and green, I decided <strong>to boldly go for a flashy color this time and chose Racing Yellow.<\/strong> This choice was inspired by <strong>a photo of a Carrera GT in yellow running on a circuit that really impressed me.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-34004\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/img-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"Carrera_GT\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Other exterior options are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbSoft top: Black (no stitching)<br \/>\n\u30fbWheels: 20-inch 718 Cayman GT4 RS forged aluminum wheels (satin black finish)<br \/>\n\u30fbWeissach Package: U-shaped carbon finish on the front trunk<br \/>\n\u30fbDoor release lever: High-gloss finish<br \/>\n\u30fbWindshield frame (A-pillar): Black foil finish (aimed at making the ride height look lower)<br \/>\n\u30fbRear Porsche logo: Silver high-gloss finish  <\/p>\n<p>Regarding the wheels, I also considered magnesium wheels, but at 2.28 million yen, they were very expensive, and since <strong>I plan to drive on narrow, hard-to-drive roads (\u201c\u9177\u9053\u201d) like I usually do, I was worried about stone chips causing damage.<\/strong> So I chose the standard aluminum wheels and had them finished in satin black to balance with the body color. <strong>The concept this time is \u201cchic in yellow and black.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-34342\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/spyder_rs_2-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"718 Spyder RS\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Interior_Specs_and_Options\"><\/span>Interior Specs and Options<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>For the interior, I aimed for a sophisticated finish based on yellow and black to match the Racing Yellow body color. The main options are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbSteering position: Left (the comfort of operating the PDK, buttons, and navigation with my dominant right hand is irreplaceable)<br \/>\n\u30fbSeats: Full bucket seats<br \/>\n\u30fbInterior trim package: Yellow stitching (410,000 yen)<br \/>\n\u30fbSeat belts: Racing Yellow<br \/>\n\u30fbSteering wheel column cover: Leather finish with yellow embroidery<br \/>\n\u30fbDoor sill guards: Carbon with illumination<br \/>\n\u30fbFloor mats<br \/>\n\u30fbSun visors: Race-Tex specification<br \/>\n\u30fbCenter console storage: With \u201cPORSCHE\u201d logo<br \/>\n\u30fbDoor pull loops (door opening straps): Racing Yellow  <\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_35008\" style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35008\" class=\"wp-image-35008 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/detail_MXVX_l_0-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"718Spyder RS\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-35008\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The config doesn\u2019t reflect the stitching, but the interior is specified to match the look in this photo.<\/p><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Functional_Options\"><\/span>Functional Options<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>To enhance driving performance and comfort, I selected the following options:<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbPDK: Standard equipment<br \/>\n\u30fbFront lift system: Mandatory option (raises ride height by 3 cm)<br \/>\n\u30fbChrono package: Interior clock<br \/>\n\u30fbBrakes: PCCB (ceramic brakes, 1,186,000 yen)<br \/>\n\u30fbBrake calipers: Black high-gloss finish<br \/>\n\u30fbHeadlights: LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)<br \/>\n\u30fbCruise control: Standard type (49,000 yen)<br \/>\n\u30fbLight design package: Adds ambient lighting<br \/>\n\u30fbSmoker\u2019s package: 12V power outlet (I don\u2019t smoke)<br \/>\n\u30fbPassenger footwell storage net: Free option  <\/p>\n<p>For the headlights, I chose the LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). In the 718 series, not choosing this option drastically changes the car\u2019s expression, so I considered it essential.<\/p>\n<p>Choosing the brake caliper color was also a tough decision. When selecting PCCB, the calipers usually come in yellow, but <strong>I felt that would be too much when paired with the Racing Yellow body color.<\/strong> So I deliberately chose the black high-gloss finish for a <strong>\u201cat first glance you wouldn\u2019t know it\u2019s PCCB, but actually it is\u201d mature style.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-34343\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/spyder_rs_1-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"718Spyder RS\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Total_Cost_and_Impressions\"><\/span>Total Cost and Impressions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Adding up all these options, the <strong>total cost of options reached 5.16 million yen.<\/strong> Combined with the base price, the total came to an astonishing <strong>25.81 million yen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, considering that I will get a 718 Spyder RS customized exactly to my liking, I believe this investment is worth it. I can\u2019t wait for the spring delivery.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Challenges_and_Considerations_in_Choosing_Options\"><\/span>Challenges and Considerations in Choosing Options<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Choosing options for the 718 Spyder RS wasn\u2019t just about picking what I liked; I had to consider the overall balance and personality of the car. Here are some other points I paid special attention to:<\/p>\n<p>The high-gloss finish on the door release lever was something I regretted missing when I bought my previous GT3 Touring, so this time I made sure to include it. This <strong>greatly changes the impression when viewed from the side.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the rear Porsche logo, I chose the silver high-gloss finish instead of the default black, which can be hard to read. This makes the <strong>logo clearly visible and serves as a rear accent.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Inside, to harmonize with the Racing Yellow body color, I unified the stitching, seat belts, and door pull loops in yellow. <strong>This creates a sense of unity between the exterior and interior.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-34340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/spyder_rs_4-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"718Spyder RS\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Advice_for_Deciding_Porsche_Specs\"><\/span>Advice for Deciding Porsche Specs<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>When ordering a special model like the 718 Spyder RS, it\u2019s important not only to consider your personal preferences but also the car\u2019s characteristics and future resale value when choosing options.<\/p>\n<p>And <strong>clarifying your concept is key.<\/strong> Whether you want a classic, sporty, or luxurious style, choosing options and colors that fit that concept is crucial. <strong>Starting to pick options simply because you like or dislike a color can result in a mismatched car.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Also, expensive options require careful consideration. For options costing hundreds of thousands to over a million yen\u2014like the Weissach Package or PCCB brakes\u2014you should thoroughly think about whether they\u2019re truly necessary and how they affect the car\u2019s value and performance before deciding.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, if you\u2019re unsure about options, it\u2019s a good idea to consult Porsche Center staff or other Porsche owners.
