I\u2019d tested the <strong>SOFT99 Genuine Leather Cleaning Wipes (\u00a5264)<\/strong> on a small section and was pleased with the results, so I decided to give the whole seat a wipe-down another day. The area I\u2019d tested is circled in red.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3261 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/20170917133641-600x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The circled area looks a little cleaner, while the rest still looks rather grimy. To the naked eye, the seat looked much cleaner, but I\u2019m clearly not great at taking photos <span style=\"font-size: 80%;\">(maybe I\u2019ll bring out my DSLR and do it properly next time)<\/span>. Even so, the worst denim dye transfer wouldn\u2019t come off, no matter how hard I tried.<\/p>\n<p>This spot was especially stubborn.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3264 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/20170917134143-600x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Time to Bring Out the Magic Eraser<\/h3>\n<p>So it was time for my secret weapon: the \u201cGekiochi-kun\u201d melamine sponge, similar to a Magic Eraser. I dampened it with water and gave the seat a wipe. Here\u2019s the result.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3265 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/20170917134320-600x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Can you see how the grimy blue area looks a little cleaner? I was so excited\u2014<strong>\u201cWow, that actually worked!\u201d<\/strong>\u2014that I went ahead and wiped down the whole seat with the damp sponge. But I got carried away and scrubbed too hard, and the sponge started falling apart.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3266 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/20170917134358-600x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I hurriedly cleaned up the scattered sponge residue with the leather wipes, and that was that. <span style=\"font-size: 80%;\">(\u201cWiping a seat with wipes\u201d sounds a bit confusing when you put it into words.)<\/span> One thing to watch out for: if the sponge is too wet, dirty water will run out as you wipe, so don\u2019t soak it.<\/p>\n<p>And here\u2019s the final result.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">The Final Look at My Leather Seats<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3267 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/20170917134431-700x480-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 150%;\">Well, what do you think?<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(In the style of Shigeo Nagashima)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how the seat looked before I cleaned it at all:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3254 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/20170915181621-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Side by side, I think it looks cleaner. I\u2019ve done all I can, though. These seats aren\u2019t new, so I\u2019ll call this a win.
