It was almost an impulse buy.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_34550\" style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34550\" class=\"wp-image-34550 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_1768-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-34550\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The new Ultra Red color is highly recommended<\/p><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Everyday_Use_%E2%80%93_Astonishing_Convenience_and_Comfort\"><\/span>Everyday Use \u2013 Astonishing Convenience and Comfort<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Let\u2019s start with how it performs as a daily driver.<\/p>\n<p>Its convenience for commuting and shopping is outstanding. <strong>The ease of an electric vehicle exceeded my expectations.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have a charger at home (a <strong>standard 200V outlet<\/strong>), just plugging in after returning home easily restores enough charge for daily driving within a few hours, and you can leave fully charged the next morning. No need to visit gas stations means freedom from that hassle. This feeling is hard to understand unless you actually own and use one. <strong>In fact, it almost feels like an electric car can run endlessly.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-34560\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/DSC03154-1280x853.jpeg\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another big advantage is how easy it is to use even for short trips.<br \/>\nWith an engine car, sometimes you arrive before the engine warms up, but electric cars don\u2019t have that issue\u2014they use energy efficiently.<\/p>\n<p>Energy efficiency in traffic jams is also excellent. Gasoline cars consume fuel idling, but electric cars only use energy for air conditioning and audio when stopped. Therefore, <strong>energy consumption during traffic jams or slow driving isn\u2019t as bad as many imagine.<\/strong><br \/>\n(Be careful of articles that mistakenly claim <strong>electric cars lose battery rapidly in traffic jams\u2014it\u2019s actually the opposite.<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Autopilot_Performance_%E2%80%93_Remarkable_Safety_and_Comfort\"><\/span>Autopilot Performance \u2013 Remarkable Safety and Comfort<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Tesla\u2019s Autopilot is famous, and it has seen several updates over the past six months with continuous improvements.<br \/>\nThe latest update last month changed the steering wheel hand detection from torque sensing to camera-based image recognition, making it <strong>even more comfortable to use.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>During the day, the interior camera checks if your hands are on the wheel,<\/strong> so just resting your hands there is enough. This is very convenient. Compared to the latest capacitive steering wheels, this camera-based detection is easier to use.<\/p>\n<p>The Autopilot\u2019s performance is outstanding.<br \/>\n<strong>It works equally well in heavy rain, tunnels, or at night, regardless of road conditions.<\/strong> On sharp curves of the Hanshin Expressway, it slows down and turns smoothly. This is a <strong>big difference from other systems that give up driving at slight curves or environmental changes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_34564\" style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34564\" class=\"size-large wp-image-34564\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_2860-1280x957.jpeg\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3\" width=\"1280\" height=\"957\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-34564\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The update now uses camera recognition, so just having your hand near the wheel is enough<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Tesla\u2019s Autopilot differs fundamentally from other manufacturers\u2019 systems in its control logic. It seems to predict situations and act accordingly. For example, it anticipates when a car might cut in front and slows down, detects construction zones and reduces speed, and moves slightly aside when trucks pass by\u2014showing <strong>behavior as if it has intent while driving.<\/strong> This proactive driving style becomes clear once you use it, revealing a fundamentally different approach from others.<\/p>\n<p>I commute about 20 km one way on the highway daily, and from the interchange entrance to exit, I hardly do anything\u2014just keep my hands lightly on the wheel.<br \/>\nAt night, a bit of torque on the wheel is needed, but <strong>the update reduced this to a minimal amount, making it extremely comfortable.<\/strong> I believe it now requires less frequent steering input than any other manufacturer\u2019s system.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Driving_Performance_%E2%80%93_Even_Porsche_Drivers_Will_Be_Impressed\"><\/span>Driving Performance \u2013 Even Porsche Drivers Will Be Impressed<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Tesla Model 3\u2019s driving feel is very solid. It\u2019s completely the opposite of the \u201cAmerican car\u201d image many Japanese imagine.<\/p>\n<p>From my experience, domestic cars in the same class can\u2019t compete at all.<br \/>\nWhile acceleration is impressive, what stands out more is the <strong>chassis rigidity, firm suspension, and strong road contact.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It has a slightly different character from European cars but is very close to their driving feel. It handles sporty on mountain and winding roads, providing plenty of driving enjoyment. The sharpness of acceleration out of corners even surpasses Porsche.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-34553\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/DSC05437-1280x853.jpeg\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The suspension\u2019s performance is also high, with <strong>roll tightly controlled when cornering. It doesn\u2019t sway or float, maintaining a consistent roll angle for a very reassuring feel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, the stock tires are eco tires with lower grip, so it tends to understeer slightly in high-speed corners. While it doesn\u2019t match the tactile quality of true sports cars like Porsche or BMW, it\u2019s <strong>still more than capable of delivering enjoyable sporty driving.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Highway_Performance_%E2%80%93_Stability_and_Cruising_Ability\"><\/span>Highway Performance \u2013 Stability and Cruising Ability<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It offers sufficient stability and cruising ability on highways.<\/p>\n<p>However, it feels slightly lacking in aerodynamic downforce, likely because the design minimizes air resistance to maximize range. Therefore, at high speeds leading the passing lane on the Shin-Tomei Expressway, it feels a bit less planted compared to European cars. Still, it\u2019s far more stable than domestic cars. You can say it\u2019s very unlikely to feel unsafe on Japanese highways.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-34549\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_1897-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Regarding brakes, it mainly uses regenerative braking but applies physical brakes during sudden stops. The brake feel and stopping power can sometimes feel a bit lacking. When pushing hard on mountain or winding roads, <strong>you might find the brake feel less satisfying compared to European cars.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"User_Interface_%E2%80%93_Surprisingly_Easy_to_Use\"><\/span>User Interface \u2013 Surprisingly Easy to Use<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Many people think the large central touchscreen might be hard to use.<\/p>\n<p>However, from my experience, it\u2019s <strong>very user-friendly.<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you find smartphone apps too complicated and prefer feature phones, it might not suit you, but <strong>most people comfortable with smartphones will find it easy to use.<\/strong> Many who find it difficult often just dislike Tesla or have preconceived notions.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I usually prefer physical buttons over touch controls.<br \/>\nI find Porsche Taycan and Cayenne touch panels hard to use and wish for physical buttons to return, but Tesla\u2019s system is the opposite\u2014so smooth and stress-free to operate.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_34563\" style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34563\" class=\"size-large wp-image-34563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_1387-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-34563\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">With Camp Mode, you can run the air conditioning and create a comfortable mobile office. The 60W USB-C easily charges a Mac. The double-glass windows make it so quiet you can work all day. Battery drops only about 1-1.5% per hour, so you can stay inside comfortably all day.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The user interface is well thought out, with an operation feel close to iPhone or iPad. The screen is responsive and menus are clear. Voice recognition is accurate, making destination setting and music search easy.<\/p>\n<p>The system\u2019s ability to display surrounding conditions is excellent. For example, <strong>on a five-lane road in Osaka, it recognizes and displays distant cars, pedestrians, bicycles, and even traffic cones,<\/strong> showing how well it understands the environment.<\/p>\n<p>This high recognition ability directly contributes to safety. There\u2019s no unlocking concept\u2014you just approach the car with your phone and it unlocks automatically. When leaving, it locks automatically as you walk away.<\/p>\n<p>Once inside, fastening your seatbelt and pressing the brake automatically switches to drive or reverse depending on surroundings.<br \/>\nNo extra operations are needed; <strong>just get in, buckle up, and you\u2019re ready to go. When exiting, just unbuckle and step out.<\/strong> No need to shift to P or engage parking brake.<\/p>\n<p>For short stops like convenience store runs, <strong>\u201cHold Mode\u201d keeps the air conditioning on, maintaining a comfortable interior while you\u2019re away.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This overwhelming ease of use makes me wonder <strong>why other carmakers haven\u2019t achieved this level of hospitality.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion_%E2%80%93_An_Innovative_Car_Perfect_for_Daily_Use\"><\/span>Conclusion \u2013 An Innovative Car Perfect for Daily Use<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Tesla Model 3 is highly recommended for anyone who uses a car daily.
