From home, the route is simple: <strong>take the Chugoku Expressway, exit at Yamazaki IC, then head north on Route 29<\/strong>. There\u2019s no dedicated scenic drive here, and it isn\u2019t a major tourist destination, but the roads are good and traffic is light. Whenever my husband gets a new car, he makes a point of driving to Haga to enjoy the roads and take photos of it.<\/p>\n<p>That morning, he gave the Panamera a thorough polish.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3448 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/20171104103807-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once it was gleaming, we were ready to go! The roads were clear, and we arrived right on schedule. The autumn colors along the mountain road to Forest Station Haga were stunning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3450 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/20171104103929-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At my husband\u2019s usual photo spot, there was already one other car. He promptly got to work taking pictures\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3451 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/20171104105535-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the kids and I went for a walk nearby.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3452 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/20171104104317-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After wandering around for a while, I looked back at the car\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3453 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/20171104104402-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He was still taking pictures. And here are a couple from the shoot. <span style=\"font-size: 80%;\">(I\u2019m pretty sure he took more than 100.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3454 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/20171104105111-800x534.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3455 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/20171104105609-800x534.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After the photo session, we drove on to Forest Station Haga.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3456 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/20171104105717-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The autumn leaves were a brilliant red and absolutely beautiful.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3457 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/20171104105658-600x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The mountain road in Haga is in excellent condition, with gentle bends and smooth, straight stretches continuing for about ten minutes. It\u2019s like this for much of the way.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3458 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/20171104105955-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Best of all, there was hardly another car in sight, which made the drive such a pleasure. Switching to Sport Plus firmed up the Panamera\u2019s suspension and made the road even more fun. And unlike the nearby Royu Driveway, there are no raised road markers to worry about, so I could enjoy the drive without fretting about <strong>\u201cwhat if I hit one with a tire?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even someone as inexperienced behind the wheel as I am can accelerate confidently and take the curves with ease, so Haga is a route I highly recommend.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">And Just Like That, More Blog Material\u2026<\/h3>\n<p>Then, right at the very end of the day, just ten minutes from home, disaster struck.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Our older daughter threw up in the car\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The vomit soaked into the leather seat of our brand-new car, and the child seat is now in the wash.
