This fully electric open-wheel racer complies with the latest regulations for the third generation of Formula E cars, known as GEN3 Evo, and features comprehensive improvements developed in-house by Porsche.<\/p>\n<p>The new Porsche 99X Electric made its online debut on October 24, 2024. It was revealed in a video featuring Bruno Correia, Formula E\u2019s safety car driver and GEN3 Evo development driver. <strong>Key technological innovations include the activation of front-wheel drive, high-grip tires, and an improved front wing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-34321\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/img_2-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche 99X Electric\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>World Champion Pascal Wehrlein and last season\u2019s most winning driver Antonio F\u00e9lix da Costa continue as official drivers for the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team. Additionally, two customer cars run by Andretti Formula E will be driven by former World Champion Jake Dennis and newly appointed Porsche works driver Nico M\u00fcller.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Porsches_Unique_Technological_Evolution\"><\/span>Porsche\u2019s Unique Technological Evolution<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This evolved model inherits the lineage of Porsche\u2019s most successful formula sports cars. The GEN3 version of the Porsche 99X Electric won the Drivers\u2019 World Championship two years in a row, with Dennis taking the title in the 2022\/2023 season and Wehrlein in the 2023\/2024 season.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-34323\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/img_9-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche 99X Electric\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The concept remains unchanged.<br \/>\nRegulations limit the available energy, forcing teams and drivers to optimize the car\u2019s efficiency in every aspect. Manufacturer-developed components were allowed to be modified for the GEN3 Evo. Porsche\u2019s development center in Weissach seized the opportunity to apply optimizations identified over the past two seasons, especially improving the drivetrain. Homologation of manufacturer components remains valid for two seasons again. The fourth generation, GEN4, is scheduled for introduction in Season 13 (2026\/2027).<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"New_Features_of_GEN3_Evo\"><\/span>New Features of GEN3 Evo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The main technological innovations of GEN3 Evo relate to standardized hardware shared by all participating teams and manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Going forward, front-wheel drive can be activated during qualifying duels, race starts, and Attack Mode.<\/strong> This allows the car to temporarily become all-wheel drive, enabling the Porsche 99X Electric to accelerate from 0 to 100 km\/h in about 2 seconds. Efficiently managing the activation of front-wheel drive presents a new technical challenge, and insights gained here are expected to benefit Porsche\u2019s production cars.<\/p>\n<p>The new model can be identified mainly by its improved front wing. The new shape enhances stability and is more resistant to contact.
