This will be a non-plug-in hybrid system, meaning it won\u2019t have a rechargeable battery.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Meschke disclosed that <strong>production of the non-hybrid Carrera S model<\/strong> will begin in early 2025 at the Zuffenhausen plant.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Details_of_the_Hybrid_System_in_the_New_911_Turbo\"><\/span>Details of the Hybrid System in the New 911 Turbo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The hybrid system in the new 911 Turbo will use a 1.9 kWh battery supplied by German battery manufacturer Varta. Varta recently overcame financial difficulties after receiving a \u20ac60 million (approx. 6.5 billion yen) capital injection from Porsche in August.<\/p>\n<p>While this hybrid system does not enable pure electric driving, it integrates a 54-horsepower (54 PS) motor inside the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. Combined with an electric turbocharger, this setup reduces the time from pressing the accelerator to reaching maximum torque from 2 seconds to just 0.5 seconds, significantly cutting turbo lag.<\/p>\n<p>Although the CO2 emissions reduction is only a few grams per kilometer, a substantial performance boost is expected.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Expected_Power_and_Performance_of_the_New_911_Turbo\"><\/span>Expected Power and Performance of the New 911 Turbo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The new 911 GTS features a newly developed 3.6-liter flat-six engine with a single large turbocharger, producing a system output of 532 horsepower (540 PS) and 449 lb-ft (609 Nm) of torque.<\/p>\n<p>This is close to the current 911 Turbo\u2019s 572 horsepower (580 PS) and Turbo S\u2019s 640 horsepower (650 PS).<\/p>\n<p>The new 911 Turbo is expected to feature an even more powerful version of this powertrain, with base models likely exceeding 600 horsepower (608 PS).<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-21839\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/59D983FD-6C08-4876-9B57-777327A3CAD1-1280x720.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Evolution_of_the_911_Carrera_S_and_the_Return_of_Manual_Transmission\"><\/span>Evolution of the 911 Carrera S and the Return of Manual Transmission<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>production of the 911 Carrera S is set to begin in early 2025<\/strong>.<br \/>\nLike the base Carrera model, the Carrera S will <strong>not adopt hybrid technology and is not expected to undergo major technical changes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The power output is expected to increase modestly from the current 443 horsepower (450 PS) to around 454 horsepower (460 PS). However, for the first time in the 992.2 generation, a <strong>manual transmission<\/strong> will be available.
