My husband recently bought a 1997 SL500. Given its age and the fact that it had been left sitting for a while after its previous owner passed away, it seems to have a few issues. The seats are worn, and apparently oil leaks from the roof when he opens or closes it. The \u201cold man\u201d SL has been spending a lot of time at the repair shop lately for maintenance.<\/p>\n
Once its trips to the shop are over (lol), it should be in perfect, like-new condition. (For the record, I haven\u2019t even ridden in it yet, let alone driven it.)<\/span><\/p>\n The other day, I wrote a post asking, \u201cIf you could choose between a 911, a Boxster, and a Panamera, which would you pick?\u201d So I asked my husband how he\u2019d rate the Boxster, Panamera, and SL. He said, \u201cThat\u2019s a tough one\u2014it depends on how you\u2019d use it,\u201d and came up with these scores:<\/p>\n Boxster: 5 Boxster: 4 Boxster: 4.3 Boxster: 4.5 Then I asked, \u201cIf you could own only one of these three cars, which would you choose?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHmm, let me think\u2026 If I had to pick the one that does a good job of everything, it\u2019d be the Panamera. So, yeah, probably the Panamera.\u201d<\/p>\n Well, that\u2019s a relief. If he\u2019d said he was keeping the Boxster, the whole family wouldn\u2019t be able to go out together\u2026 (laughs).
