Participants bring their own Porsches. I believe its official name used to be the \u201cPorsche Sports Driving School,\u201d but <strong>when I checked the website again recently, I found it had been renamed the \u201cPorsche Track Experience.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">What Happens at the Porsche Track Experience?<\/h3>\n<p>The Porsche Track Experience offers five levels of instruction, from the introductory \u201cWarm Up (Plus)\u201d to the advanced \u201cFast Track.\u201d It\u2019s usually held twice a year, in spring (June) and fall (October). My husband has been going every time since 2016, and after each session he\u2019d say, <strong>\u201cI learned so much!\u201d<\/strong> and <strong>\u201cThat was so much fun!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-989 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/2016-05-29_081344000_F82B2_iOS-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I got curious and checked the website, but there was so little information that I still couldn\u2019t get a clear picture of what the course involved. So I asked my husband, <strong>\u201cWhat exactly do you do at a Porsche driving school?\u201d<\/strong> His answer caught me completely off guard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Oh, I set up a GoPro in the car and film everything every time. Want to watch?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u2026Wait, what!? And why exactly (-_-)!?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Seriously, who are you? Anyway, today I\u2019m sharing footage from the most beginner-friendly course, the \u201cWarm Up\u201d program.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">The \u201cWarm Up\u201d Program<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cWarm Up\u201d is a half-day course<span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\"> (my husband\u2019s session was held in the morning)<\/span>. Its goal is to master the fundamentals of <strong>\u201cgo, turn, and stop\u201d\u2014including braking, steering, and throttle control<\/strong>. After covering the basics, such as driving position, hand placement on the steering wheel, and how to fasten your seat belt, participants move on to four practical exercises:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">\u2460 Braking (ABS braking): Braking lesson<br \/>\n\u2461 Emergency avoidance: Emergency braking lesson<br \/>\n\u2462 Slalom: Slalom and handling lesson<br \/>\n\u2463 Wet skid circle: Steady circular training<\/p>\n<p>So, let\u2019s take a look at the video first.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ytube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Nq42TN_7aog\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">What Each Exercise Teaches You<\/h3>\n<p>What did you think? My husband\u2019s Boxster has a manual transmission, so I said, <strong>\u201cI can\u2019t believe you do all that in a manual!\u201d<\/strong> He replied, \u201cIt\u2019s fine\u2014we only use up to second gear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-992 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/IMG_4394-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a quick look at what each exercise is designed to teach:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\"><strong>\u2460 Braking (ABS braking)<\/strong> gives you a firsthand feel for the stopping power of a Porsche\u2019s brakes.<br \/>\n<strong>\u2461 Emergency avoidance<\/strong> teaches you to brake hard first, then steer to avoid an obstacle. You also experience how the car can remain stable even when you steer while braking.<br \/>\n<strong>\u2462 Slalom<\/strong> puts your cornering technique to the test: when to steer into a turn, and how to use the throttle\u2014not the brakes\u2014to help guide the car through it.<br \/>\n<strong>\u2463 Wet skid circle<\/strong> lets you feel what it\u2019s like when a car begins to slide, and how Porsche Stability Management (PSM) helps stabilize the car and prevent the slide from getting worse.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">That\u2019s the idea, anyway.<\/span><br \/>\n\uff0aPorsche Stability Management (PSM) is a system that helps stabilize a vehicle\u2019s handling in dangerous situations, further enhancing safety.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-990 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/2016-05-29_041036656_8C503_iOS-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When I asked my husband what he liked about the course, he said:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cYou become a better driver, plain and simple. My everyday driving gets much smoother, including on mountain roads. I actually learn the most from Warm Up\u2014even more than from the advanced classes.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">This Year\u2019s Spring Session Has Been Announced<\/h3>\n<p>This year\u2019s Porsche Track Experience will be held at Fuji Speedway in June.
