This time, I\u2019d like to focus on impressions from the highway and winding roads.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Highway_Impressions_Like_the_%E2%80%9CNozomi%E2%80%9D_Shinkansen\"><\/span>Highway Impressions: Like the \u201cNozomi\u201d Shinkansen<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>The impression on the highway is exactly like the \u201cNozomi\u201d bullet train.<\/strong> It accelerates smoothly right from the tollgate and quickly reaches cruising speed.<br \/>\nWith no engine noise, you only hear the wind rushing by, making it feel as if you\u2019re riding a Shinkansen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Straight-line stability and high-speed stability are outstanding, fully matching the level of European cars.<\/strong> The tires grip the road firmly, and the steering responds precisely without slipping. It faithfully follows the driver\u2019s inputs, so you\u2019re unlikely to feel fatigued even on long drives.<\/p>\n<p>So how does it compare to our Taycan? <strong>The Model 3 feels quicker off the line,<\/strong> but when you press the accelerator hard and check the speedometer after a while, <strong>the Taycan is cruising at a much higher speed.<\/strong> This shows the Taycan\u2019s lack of speed sensation, and the higher the speed, the more impressive its flatness and lack of speed awareness are.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_32815\" style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32815\" class=\"size-large wp-image-32815\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/DSC03131-1280x853.jpeg\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3 Highland with 18-inch Photon Wheels\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-32815\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The standard 18-inch wheels currently come with Michelin tires. There is a significant difference in range between the 18-inch and optional 19-inch wheels, with the 18-inch offering about 40 km more range.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Autopilot feature is also excellent and works better than many online comments suggest. I headed to the Royu Driveway, where I usually drive my Porsche.<\/p>\n<p>I started in Comfort mode. Even in Comfort mode, the power and handling were more than sufficient, and the car took corners with stability. I was impressed by how it drove like a textbook example of a sporty sedan, comfortably and confidently.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-32797\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IMG_1357-1280x853.jpeg\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3 Highland\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Up to this point, I was already admiring the Model 3\u2019s fundamental performance, just as I had on city streets.<\/p>\n<p>Then, after passing the tollgate, I switched from Comfort to Standard mode and set the steering to Sport mode.<\/p>\n<p><strong>At that moment, the car transformed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Like a sleeping beast awakened, it unleashed fierce acceleration. Pressing the accelerator, I felt the G-force pressing me into the seat as the speed climbed rapidly. <strong>The acceleration felt stronger than a Taycan 4S, almost like a Taycan Turbo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Entering corners, the car moved with an agility I hadn\u2019t imagined. <strong>The steering responded precisely to inputs, tracing the intended line.<\/strong> Body roll was minimal and stopped sharply at a fixed angle. The tires gripped the road firmly, with no instability in lateral load transfer. It cornered with true stability.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-32822\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/DSC03138-1280x853.jpeg\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3 Highland\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The sensation was like a flying carpet glued to the ground, racing through corners. <strong>It\u2019s a bit different from the Porsche feeling of sticking to the road and directly sensing tire contact.<\/strong> Yet the Model 3 delivers cornering performance on a completely different level.<\/p>\n<p>On corner exits, the strong traction of the AWD system kicks in, accelerating powerfully.<br \/>\nCombined with the sharp response of the accelerator and motors, the acceleration is exhilarating\u2014no, downright thrilling.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-32806\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/DSC03196-1280x853.jpeg\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3 Highland\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Honestly, I didn\u2019t expect a car this fun to drive on winding roads. <strong>I was genuinely amazed, thinking, \u201cTesla is this incredible!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Until now, the joy of driving on winding roads was something I\u2019d only experienced with Porsche sports cars like the 911 and Boxster. But <strong>the Model 3 taught me a new kind of driving pleasure with a completely different approach.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was like experiencing a new game for the first time\u2014fresh and exciting.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Has_It_Surpassed_Porsche\"><\/span>Has It Surpassed Porsche?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>So, has the Model 3 surpassed Porsche?<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Porsche remains an amazing car brand. The unique feel passed down from the 911 lineage is something no other car can replicate. In fact, there are many areas where Tesla can\u2019t match Porsche, such as tire contact feel, road surface feedback, and behavioral feedback.<\/p>\n<p>However, <strong>the Model 3 represents a car with an entirely new set of values.<\/strong> It holds the potential to overturn traditional car concepts, much like how smartphones replaced feature phones.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_32811\" style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32811\" class=\"size-large wp-image-32811\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/DSC03147-1280x853.jpeg\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3 Highland rear spoiler\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-32811\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Aerodynamics are carefully considered here. This attention to detail is one reason I love imported cars.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Porsche cherishes the driving feel inherited from the 911, even in the Taycan.
