Back then, we drove cars like the Volkswagen Golf, BMW 3 Series, and Nissan NOTE e-POWER NISMO.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-32332\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/6FD5C2C5-E8A0-421E-B487-C6CFBE853DD0-1280x853-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Nissan NOTE\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As the kids grew, <strong>\u201crear seat space and comfort\u201d<\/strong> and <strong>\u201cride quality\u201d<\/strong> became important (kids do prefer bigger cars after all).<\/p>\n<p>Still, for us drivers, the axis of <strong>\u201ccars that are fun to drive\u201d<\/strong> couldn\u2019t be abandoned, so we drove the Cayenne e-Hybrid for a while after a test drive completely won us over.<\/p>\n<p>The Cayenne was spacious and comfortable for five people on long trips, including the front passenger seat. It easily fit two suitcases, had a smooth ride, and the hybrid acceleration felt great without the motor\u2019s weight being noticeable\u2014there was nothing to complain about, but\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-32333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/D4277E7F-D357-4A30-B14B-871335B8033C-1280x853-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Cayenne\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Because the body is large and wide, parking remained a challenge\u2026<\/p>\n<p>In the end, we concluded that <strong>\u201cwe don\u2019t need one car to deliver driving fun, comfort, and compactness all at once. We enjoy driving fun in my husband\u2019s Boxster and 911.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Choosing a car with \u201cat least 5 seats,\u201d \u201cdecent rear seat space,\u201d \u201cample cargo capacity,\u201d \u201cnarrow and compact width,\u201d and \u201csolid driving performance\u201d led us to the Mercedes-Benz GLB.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-32334\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/BC739284-5165-46C5-964A-B3335579CF30-1280x853-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Mercedes-Benz GLB\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The GLB can seat 7 in a pinch, carries plenty of cargo, is under 1850mm wide, and drives well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The family car is the GLB. For driving enjoyment, it\u2019s the 911 or Boxster.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the current best solution for our family car life.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Changing_Views_on_Cars\"><\/span>Changing Views on Cars<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>As I mentioned earlier, besides the family growing, my own views on cars have changed dramatically over the past 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>When I married my husband, <strong>I had zero interest in cars, was a paper driver for over 10 years, and was certain I\u2019d never be interested in cars, drive, or own one myself.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No matter how many times my husband said, <strong>\u201cOnce the kids are born, you\u2019ll definitely drive more, so practice now!\u201d<\/strong>, I stubbornly refused, saying \u201cI\u2019m scared. Driving is impossible for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I couldn\u2019t tell the difference between cars at all\u2014Prius and kei cars I could recognize, but everything else looked the same. (Back then, I had no clue what distinguished a Mercedes-Benz C-Class from an S-Class lol.)<\/p>\n<p>Now, 10 years later, I find myself thinking, <strong>\u201cCars aren\u2019t just transportation; they enrich my life and motivate me to work hard.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-32335\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/IMG_2026-1280x854-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 Carrera T\" width=\"1280\" height=\"854\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Paying monthly loans is tough, but it motivates me to work hard. When I\u2019m tired from work, just knowing I can drive my own car home lifts my spirits and makes me happy.<\/p>\n<p>In that sense, I\u2019ve come to want to <strong>\u201cstretch myself a bit and own a car that lifts my spirits and motivates me in life.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s amazing how someone who once had zero interest in cars has changed 180 degrees like this\u2026 Life really is unpredictable.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Car_Life_That_Fits_Us\"><\/span>A Car Life That Fits Us<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Our car life and choices have changed as our family grew, deeply reflecting our values and lifestyle at each stage.<\/p>\n<p>As the kids grow, factors like comfort and usability become as important as driving fun.
