It\u2019s been almost three years now, and <strong>the current mileage is about 29,000 km<\/strong>. The total fuel economy isn\u2019t precisely known because the meter was reset once at 10,000 km, but it\u2019s roughly around 9 km\/l.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2885 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6741-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(\u201cConsumpt\u201d means fuel consumption. By the way, this is the European notation showing how many liters are used per 100 km.)<\/span><br \/>\nAccording to my husband, this is the result of <strong>driving without any concern for fuel economy<\/strong>. He rarely shifted into 5th or 6th gear in city driving, often pushed the car hard on the driveway, and even drove on the circuit\u2026 so he thinks the fuel economy would be better if he drove more consciously.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, the Boxster\u2019s fuel tank capacity is 64 liters. The Panamera\u2019s is 90 liters, so the Boxster\u2019s tank is small\u2026 or maybe the Panamera\u2019s tank is just huge (-_-)<\/p>\n<p>Calculating at 9 km\/l, <strong>\u201cto drive 29,000 km, it used 3,222 liters\u201d<\/strong>. Referring to <a href=\"https:\/\/e-nenpi.com\/gs\/price_graph\/4\/2\/0\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this site<\/a> for gasoline prices, the calculation came out to:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">150 yen<span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(average gasoline price over 3 years)<\/span> \u00d7 3,222 = 483,300 yen<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Wow\u2026 ( \uff9f\u0434\uff9f )\u2026<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">\u2461 Oil Changes and Inspections<\/h3>\n<p>The Boxster\u2019s oil tank capacity is 7.5 liters. But filling it full might be too much, so oil changes probably use a bit over 6 liters. He replaced two tires at a specialist shop called \u201cNishinomiya Base,\u201d and the labor cost was 4,800 yen.<\/p>\n<p>So the total was 102,800 yen.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">\u2464 Vehicle Inspection<\/h3>\n<p>Regarding the vehicle inspection, since it\u2019s a new car, the first inspection is after three years, so this year is the inspection year. Depending on whether parts need replacement, he said it would probably cost around 200,000 yen.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">\u2465 Automobile Insurance<\/h3>\n<p>For automobile insurance, he used to have Sony Sonpo and other online insurance for his previous car, but for cars worth over 10 million yen or luxury cars, it seems you can\u2019t get comprehensive insurance? Considering more frequent tire replacements or other costs, it might reach about 1 million yen per year.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">My Husband\u2019s Take?<\/h3>\n<p>When I said, \u201cWow, maintaining a car really costs a lot of money,\u201d he said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">But with this performance and driving enjoyment, an annual running cost of just over 500,000 yen is reasonable, or even cheap.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u2026Well, normally I wouldn\u2019t call that cheap (-_-)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>My husband is the kind of person who complains, \u201cWhat is this? 2,000 yen for a lunch that barely fills you up? That\u2019s way too expensive!\u201d when served a fancy restaurant\u2019s small tasting lunch.
