Light, agile, with outstanding handling, and the manual transmission is so much fun\u2014I have no complaints about the driving at all. In fact, the Carrera T is just amazing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31917\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_3110-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche Carrera T\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But lately, I\u2019ve been driving the Carrera T less and less.<\/p>\n<p>The reason is clear: <strong>the car\u2019s impracticality for daily use has become more apparent.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My husband had warned me about this from the start.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">The Carrera T has a sports chassis and low ground clearance. You might be able to use it daily, but you should be prepared for some challenges. Are you sure you\u2019re okay with that?<\/p>\n<p>That was his caution.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, I thought, \u201c<strong>That\u2019s not a problem at all.<\/strong>\u201d In fact, until just recently, I was using the Carrera T for everything: dropping off and picking up the kids at school, taking them to the dentist, dermatologist, and pediatrician, grocery shopping, trips to the drugstore and convenience store\u2014wherever I went, it was in the Carrera T.<\/p>\n<p>Since I installed the front axle lift system, I thought, \u201c<strong>Raising the ride height by 30mm means I can go anywhere without issue.<\/strong>\u201d And early on, I was very careful, so I never scraped the underside.<\/p>\n<p>However, recently (our neighborhood is quite hilly), I\u2019ve started scraping the bottom in unexpected places\u2014like at gas stations or when driving the kids to their friends\u2019 houses\u2014moments where I thought, \u201c<strong>Wait, here too!?<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Well, this was within my expectations, and more than anything, the joy of driving the Carrera T far outweighs these inconveniences. Even when my husband suggested, \u201c<strong>Why don\u2019t you drive the GLB sometimes?<\/strong>\u201d I stubbornly replied, \u201c<strong>No, I\u2019m going everywhere in the Carrera T!<\/strong>\u201d and kept driving it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31472\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_2234-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 Carrera T\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That said, my daily life is very different from my husband\u2019s\u2014I don\u2019t commute to an office (I work from home), and I only drive on the highway to Osaka two or three times a month. Otherwise, I mostly drive within a three-kilometer radius, with each trip lasting about 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>My husband often says,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">If you\u2019re not driving for more than 20 minutes, the Carrera T isn\u2019t the best choice. Repeatedly stopping the engine before the oil temperature rises isn\u2019t good for it. Instead of using the Carrera T for every trip, why not drive the GLB daily and save the Carrera T for special occasions?<\/p>\n<p>Gradually, I started to agree with him more and more.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Kids_and_the_Carrera_T\"><\/span>The Kids and the Carrera T<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Another big factor is my three children.<\/p>\n<p>Although the Carrera T seats four, the rear seats are quite cramped. Plus, my three-year-old son insists on sitting in the front passenger seat, so <strong>my 10-year-old daughter and 7-year-old daughter end up squeezed into the back every time.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31532\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/IMG_2364-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"911 Carrera T\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My eldest daughter gets car sick easily and quickly feels unwell, so in the cramped, upright rear seats, she\u2019s almost always feeling queasy and often says, \u201c<strong>Mom, I really hate your car&#8230;<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And I can\u2019t blame her.<\/p>\n<p>I now understand how dads feel when they get grumbled at by their families and feel a bit out of place driving a sports car (laughs).<\/p>\n<p>Being a two-door, having to fold the front seats down every time to get in and out is a bit of a hassle, too. So, while getting complaints from the kids, I drive the Carrera T around the neighborhood within a three-kilometer radius, constantly mindful of parking and scraping risks\u2026<\/p>\n<p>These days, I find myself wondering what to do about all this.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the Carrera T itself is blameless; this is entirely my issue, something I knew from the start.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone can see that for someone like me who only drives locally, the Carrera T is overkill\u2014a case of pearls before swine. I was fully aware of that.<\/p>\n<p>Still, I wanted to fulfill my dream of \u201c<strong>buying my own Porsche<\/strong>,\u201d and thanks to various fortunate connections, I took the plunge and bought it. (That said, I have no regrets.)<\/p>\n<p>So, \u201c<strong>should I sell it then?<\/strong>\u201d That\u2019s also difficult. I\u2019m emotionally attached, and when I do take it on longer drives, it\u2019s incredibly fun.
