Checking the specs for the new Panamera Turbo on the website, <strong>the trunk capacity is listed as \u201c500 liters.\u201d<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(The 4E Hybrid\u2019s capacity is 405 liters, so it varies by model.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">500 liters\u2026 (-_-)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Even so, it\u2019s hard to really grasp. What does 500 liters actually mean? For reference, a bathtub holds about 200 liters<span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(many bath salts recommend one scoop per 200 liters)<\/span>, so that\u2019s more than two full bathtubs of water?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u2026That makes it even less clear (-_-)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>So, I decided to actually load some luggage into the trunk to see how much it can hold.  <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">The Panamera Trunk is Spacious<\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s what the back of the new Panamera looks like:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2976\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6808-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And this is the trunk opened to its maximum:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2977\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6790-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Inside, it\u2019s probably more spacious than the common image that \u201cPorsches can\u2019t carry luggage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2978\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6791-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Sorry about the mess on the left side\u2026)<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span>By the way, at our house we lay down an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.jp\/gp\/product\/B078Z6BX3R\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=247&amp;creative=1211&amp;creativeASIN=B078Z6BX3R&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=naturallink-22&amp;linkId=e7f275661aa7a59fccb2b01c9183ee54\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">anti-slip net<\/a>. There are pockets on both sides of the trunk,<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2979\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6792-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and nets too, so you can keep car wash supplies and other items you want to always have in the car. Before loading luggage, I measured the actual size.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2980\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6793-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Panamera Trunk Dimensions?<\/h3>\n<p>Using a tape measure,  <\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">Width: 92 cm, Depth: 103 cm, Height: 37 cm&lt;<\/p>\n<p>But I\u2019m not very dexterous, so there might be a 1 cm margin of error\u2026 sorry\u2026 (-_-)<br \/>\nNow that I know the size, I tried loading some luggage. First, I put in one suitcase <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(LM size for 3 to 5 nights)<\/span>, and it fit like this:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2982\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6798-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Plenty of room (\uffe3\u30fc\uffe3)\uff42<\/p>\n<p>Next, I tried two suitcases. The second suitcase is a <a href=\"https:\/\/a.r10.to\/hzLlHB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Porsche genuine Rimowa suitcase, 33L<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2983\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6795-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yep, still plenty of space. There\u2019s still room in front, so I added a stroller. This is a compact stroller sold at Nishimatsuya.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2984\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6797-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Even with all this, it looks like there\u2019s still space left.<\/p>\n<p>If you can fit two suitcases and a stroller, that\u2019s pretty sufficient.<\/p>\n<p>I would have liked to test with a golf carry bag, but <strong>neither my husband nor I play golf, so we don\u2019t have one at home\u2026<\/strong> However, from what I\u2019ve seen online, it should fit.  <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Will the Trunk Close?<\/h3>\n<p>One thing to watch out for is height. The rear of this Panamera has a beautiful streamlined shape, closer to a 911 (?), so <strong>if you load something tall near the front, the trunk might not close.<\/strong> What if the suitcase is placed sideways?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2986\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6799-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In this position, it closed without any problem. What about vertical?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2987\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6801-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Even vertically, it closed fine.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2990\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6807-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But if you move it a bit closer to the front\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2988\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_6804-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It won\u2019t close.
