Because of that, when the blog first started, my husband told me, &#8220;<strong>You absolutely have to read Mr. Wata\u2019s blog, it\u2019s really interesting<\/strong>,&#8221; and I began following it regularly.<\/p>\n<p>What stands out about Mr. Wata\u2019s blog is how easy and enjoyable it is to read.<\/p>\n<p>Many car blogs tend to be technical and geeky, but even as a complete novice back then, I found it very engaging, easy to understand, and captivating.<\/p>\n<p>Probably it\u2019s Mr. Wata\u2019s personality (sometimes self-deprecating humor included), the vivid accounts of his tours, the beautiful photos, and above all, the edited YouTube videos of his trips\u2026<\/p>\n<p>All these elements blend together to create a <strong>&#8220;blog you can\u2019t help but keep reading&#8221; and one you eagerly await updates from<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>My husband and Mr. Wata met through a mutual acquaintance, and they\u2019ve gone on tours together. When Mr. Wata visits the Kansai area, he kindly reaches out and they get to meet up.<\/p>\n<p>But for me, somehow the timing never worked out, or I missed messages, and though I kept thinking &#8220;<strong>I want to meet him someday, someday<\/strong>,&#8221; five years passed.<\/p>\n<p>Then, just recently, <strong>Mr. Wata was touring in the Kansai area<\/strong>, and I suddenly received a message (which, oddly enough, ended up in my spam folder\u2026 haha). We coordinated schedules, and at last, my husband and I were able to meet him in person.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Porsche_Is_Made_to_Be_Driven\"><\/span>A Porsche Is Made to Be Driven<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>We met at the Royu Driveway.<\/p>\n<p>I drove my Carrera T, and my husband came in his Cayman T.<\/p>\n<p>As a self-confessed rain-bringer, I was worried I\u2019d cause rain (it had rained that morning), so I prayed for clear skies as we set off.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, the weather cleared up, and from the Higashi Rokko Observatory on the Royu Driveway, we could see the distant mountains under a bright sky.<\/p>\n<p>Thank goodness\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Wata was just as I had imagined from his YouTube videos\u2014kind and gentlemanly. Of course, his voice sounded exactly as I had heard it online, and I was so thrilled I almost asked for a handshake (but I\u2019m shy, so I didn\u2019t actually do it, haha).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-32090\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/IMG_3487-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Mr. Wata\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He told us, &#8220;<strong>Tonight, I\u2019m taking a ferry to Miyazaki<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">&#8220;Well, I just went to Hokkaido recently, so now I have to balance it out by going to Kyushu,&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026Wow, I really have no idea what he means (LOL).<\/p>\n<p>But this boldness, this craziness, is exactly what makes Mr. Wata so charming, and why so many Porsche owners are drawn to his free-spirited lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>His Boxster looked unbelievably pristine for having 230,000 kilometers on it.<\/p>\n<p>He modestly said, &#8220;<strong>Oh, it\u2019s not that great\u2014if you look closely, there are small scratches<\/strong>,&#8221; but in front of this sapphire blue Boxster with beige interior, those tiny scratches are completely invisible.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-32089\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/IMG_3485-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Boxster\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A Porsche is truly a car made to be driven, and seeing that it runs perfectly even after 230,000 kilometers was overwhelming. Of course, regular maintenance like suspension refreshes, tire changes, and oil changes are done, but this really showed me the high performance and durability of Porsche.<\/p>\n<p>I need to drive my Carrera T more, too. (It\u2019s currently around 6,000 kilometers.)<\/p>\n<p>With three kids, it\u2019s hard to go on long trips as much as I\u2019d like, and I haven\u2019t really done a proper touring drive yet, so I hope to get out somewhere by spring this year. (I did go on a tour to Okayama once.)<\/p>\n<p>And when the kids are a bit older and more independent, I want to try a long-distance tour like Mr. Wata\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Though our time was short, I\u2019m really glad I got to meet Mr. Wata.
