He described it as,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">A car where the driver\u2019s inputs clearly and immediately affect the vehicle\u2019s behavior (output). This is where the analog joy of driving lies, and mastering it is what makes the car \u201cfun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said it\u2019s not an easy-to-drive car like the modern 911s, which anyone can handle well; rather, it\u2019s a car that requires skill to truly master.<\/p>\n<p>How deep and profound it is.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31936\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_7810-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, we received a candid impression from the owner of this GT3, Mr. T, about <strong>why he purchased this GT3 and how he feels after actually driving it<\/strong>. After some practice with a rear-wheel-drive Silvia (which was also a fun car), I got an S2000 and have been driving it for about 15 years.<\/p>\n<p>One day, a senior colleague bought a <strong>Ferrari 360 Spider<\/strong>, and I got to ride shotgun. I didn\u2019t have high expectations, but when I experienced full acceleration, all my previous impressions were completely overturned.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, I admired Ferrari, but after test driving one at a dealer, I realized it wasn\u2019t quite my style, so I started considering Porsche next.<\/p>\n<p>However, since I wanted a car that could seat four family members, I was also looking at the Panamera. Then one day, the same senior called me saying, \u201c<strong>I\u2019m about to sell my GT3. Interested?<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>A 911, huh&#8230; I\u2019m not that interested, and I think the rear seats have a roll cage so it can\u2019t really fit four people. But since it\u2019s a rare chance, I\u2019ll give it a try!<\/strong>\u201d I thought, and when I drove it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>What the heck! I want it!<\/p>\n<p>And so, instead of buying a four-seater, I ended up adding another two-seater to the garage.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31939\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_7806-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Interior of Porsche 911 GT3 (997)\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Options_Specifications\"><\/span>Options \/ Specifications<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>This 911 GT3 was set up by my senior for running at Suzuka Circuit. The brakes were changed from PCCB to steel brakes, the stock clutch\u2014which was reportedly very heavy\u2014was replaced with an aftermarket twin-plate clutch plus a lightweight flywheel, and one catalytic converter was removed.<\/p>\n<p>The suspension was returned to stock to avoid scraping the bottom, and an alignment was done. The tires are Neovas.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31931\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_8271-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Impressions_after_owning_and_driving\"><\/span>Impressions after owning and driving<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Since I haven\u2019t driven other Caymans or 911s, my long-time S2000 serves as my baseline.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the engine, <strong>probably due to the clutch change, I have to be careful when starting off.<\/strong> If I\u2019m not paying attention, it stalls (laughs). But once you step on it, power floods out, the revs climb sharply, and you hit the redline in no time.<\/p>\n<p>You really have to watch out for over-revving.<\/p>\n<p>As for the suspension, <strong>I find the everyday ride quality very comfortable.<\/strong> The body rigidity is impressive\u2014this is what a stiff chassis feels like. The suspension works well, so although bumps can be tough, cruising on the highway is very pleasant.<\/p>\n<p>Even when driving at Suzuka, <strong>I\u2019m still intimidated by the high speeds and haven\u2019t yet found the limits.<\/strong> So while it might be possible to use it daily, somewhere inside I hear voices saying, <strong>\u201cIs this slow speed really enough? Step on it more! Can you even handle it?\u201d<\/strong> (laughs)<\/p>\n<p><strong>There\u2019s somehow a scent of blood, or a hint of madness&#8230;<\/strong> It feels like entering a zone where reason fades away.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, I usually drive the S2000, use the NX when taking the family, and occasionally take the Porsche out for drives and circuit runs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31930\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_8272-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Rear of Porsche 911 GT3 (997)\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_word_to_readers\"><\/span>A word to readers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>As the dealer lady also said, <strong>Porsche is truly a car you won\u2019t understand until you actually drive it.<\/strong> It might have the image of a luxury car for celebrities (my wife thought so too), but underneath it\u2019s a sports car with a strong racing spirit. If you love driving, please try a test drive!<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"You_wont_understand_Porsche_until_you_drive_it\"><\/span>You won\u2019t understand Porsche until you drive it<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>As he wrote at the end, \u201c<strong>You really don\u2019t understand Porsche until you drive it<\/strong>,\u201d and I completely agree.
