In all cases, the pressures were slightly above the standard settings, so I explained that <strong>\u201csetting it to Comfort Pressure will improve ride comfort even more.\u201d<\/strong> However, most owners seem unaware of the correct Porsche tire pressure settings and how to adjust them.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve written about tire pressure and TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) several times before, but I\u2019d like to summarize the correct way to set tire pressures on Porsches equipped with TPMS.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Properly_Adjust_Porsche_Tire_Pressure\"><\/span>How to Properly Adjust Porsche Tire Pressure<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Since the 997 generation, Porsche has offered TPMS as an optional tire pressure sensor and management system.<\/strong> With the 981 and 991 generations, it became standard on some trims, and by the 718 and 992 generations, it\u2019s standard on all models.<\/p>\n<p>TPMS sensors are installed on the wheel valve stems and <strong>send real-time tire pressure information to the vehicle.<\/strong> This system is now widely adopted, especially in imported cars.<\/p>\n<p>Normally, when adjusting tire pressure, you look at the air pump gauge and inflate or deflate to a target value, like 2.5 bar.<\/p>\n<p>However, <strong>with Porsche, you should never adjust tire pressure by looking at the air pump gauge alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You need to adjust based on the tire pressure \u201cdeviation\u201d information displayed on the vehicle\u2019s screen. Access via \u2018Vehicle\u2019 screen, then the \u2018&#8230;\u2019 button at bottom right (or opposite side depending on steering wheel), then \u2018Vehicle Settings\u2019 \u2192 \u2018Tire Pressure Monitoring.\u2019<\/p><\/div><div id=\"attachment_31860\" style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-31860\" class=\"size-large wp-image-31860\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_2606_Original-1280x960.jpg\" alt=\"Correct way to adjust Porsche tire pressure\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-31860\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">This screen is used on current Cayenne and Panamera models.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n<p>By the way, there are also settings for tire size and summer\/winter tires, so <strong>if you change the wheel size from stock or switch to winter tires, be sure to review these settings.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_31861\" style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-31861\" class=\"size-large wp-image-31861\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_2607_Original-1280x960.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche tire selection screen\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-31861\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">When changing tires, you need to update to the correct settings.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>There\u2019s also a checkbox for \u201cFull Load\u201d or \u201cFully Occupied,\u201d which you check when carrying full passengers and cargo, adjusting tire pressure accordingly for the extra weight.<\/p>\n<p>Just from this, <strong>you can see how much Porsche emphasizes tires and their pressure.<\/strong><br \/>For Porsche, tire pressure directly affects performance.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Choose_%E2%80%98Comfort_Pressure_for_Better_Ride_Comfort\"><\/span>Choose \u2018Comfort Pressure\u2019 for Better Ride Comfort<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If you prioritize ride comfort, I definitely recommend <strong>\u201cComfort Pressure.\u201d<\/strong> This is especially true if you mostly drive in the city or use your Porsche as a date car.<\/p>\n<p>The difference between Standard and Comfort is about 0.3 to 0.4 bar depending on tire size, which is noticeable in how the car feels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you have 20\/21-inch wheels on a 992 generation, I strongly recommend Comfort Pressure.<\/strong> The difference seems more pronounced than on 981, 991, or 718 generations. This reflects the more advanced and sensitive suspension on the 992.<\/p>\n<p>Standard Pressure offers a livelier feel but tends to increase harshness and road noise. However, fuel economy is better with Standard Pressure.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, my brother bought a 992 Carrera S, and when I test drove it, I immediately pointed out the tire pressure. <strong>We stopped the car right there, switched to Comfort setting, and adjusted the pressure down to the proper level while watching the deviation screen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31714\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/DSC04832-1280x854.jpeg\" alt=\"Okayama Wide-Area Farm Road\" width=\"1280\" height=\"854\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As soon as he started driving, he said, <strong>\u201cWow, this is amazing!
