This was our second visit, the first being back in November two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>There were two reasons for going to PEC Tokyo this time.<\/p>\n<p>First, <strong>I received an invitation to PEC Tokyo when I purchased my new Carrera T<\/strong>. The second reason was that <strong>my husband obtained a driving lesson ticket for PEC Tokyo through hometown tax donation, which was set to expire in July<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Last time, we drove all the way from home to Chiba, but traveling long distances with our three kids was much more challenging than expected. (On top of that, my husband went on a tour right after, leaving me to take all three kids home alone, and we got caught in heavy traffic on the Kanagawa expressway, which was tough.)<\/p>\n<p>Learning from that experience (laughs), this time we flew, which greatly reduced the fatigue from traveling back and forth.<\/p>\n<p>Now, I\u2019d like to share my impressions of PEC Tokyo after a year and a half.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31485\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/IMG_2269-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"PEC Tokyo\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Impressions_of_PEC_Tokyo\"><\/span>Impressions of PEC Tokyo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_GT4RS_was_incredible%E2%80%A6\"><\/span>The GT4RS was incredible\u2026!<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>For this driving lesson, <strong>I chose the GT4RS.<\/strong> My husband had previously ridden in a friend\u2019s GT4RS and was absolutely blown away, saying it was \u201c<strong>incredibly amazing!<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since I had purchased a new Carrera T (base model), the standard invitation only allowed me to select the base Carrera, but I paid an extra fee to drive the GT4RS.<\/p>\n<p>The GT4RS\u2019s performance was truly astonishing. <strong>It was a driving experience unlike anything I\u2019d ever had before\u2014just like a race car.<\/strong> At the same time, I was surprised at how manageable it was.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31490\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/IMG_2250-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche GT4RS\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The powerful engine sound resonated directly inside the cabin,<\/strong> and as speed and RPMs rose, the instructor\u2019s voice became almost inaudible. While I had thought the Carrera T was sporty, the GT4RS was in a completely different league.<\/p>\n<p>It was my first time driving with bucket seats, and at first, I wondered, \u201c<strong>What\u2019s it like that the backrest doesn\u2019t recline\u2026?<\/strong>\u201d but the firm support was great and posed no issues. Especially when cornering, the connection from my back and arms to the steering wheel was easier, making driving smoother.<\/p>\n<p>During the lesson, we drove various courses, but the full acceleration and full braking experience was intense. When I floored the accelerator, I felt a fear like, \u201c<strong>If I accelerate any more, I might die\u2026<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I had previously experienced full acceleration and braking in a Panamera Turbo driving school, feeling the force pressing me into the seat, but <strong>the GT4RS\u2019s instant power and acceleration were far more intense.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The instructor also said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">\u201cEven people who regularly drive the GT4RS often get scared and ease off the accelerator halfway through, but you kept it floored until the end\u2014that takes a lot of courage! Wonderful!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That compliment made me really happy (laughs).<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Only_by_driving_smoothly_and_safely_can_you_drive_fast\"><\/span>Only by driving smoothly and safely can you drive fast<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>In the driving lesson, the instructor always does a demo run first, then you try it yourself. <strong>The instructor\u2019s driving was smooth and fluid throughout.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I had felt this last time too, but no matter how fast they went, their driving was seamless, and I was once again amazed by their flowing technique.<\/p>\n<p>My instructor had actual professional racing experience and said, \u201c<strong>With everyday cars, the tire tread and brake pads barely wear down at all.<\/strong>\u201d That made perfect sense.<\/p>\n<p>When I switched driving, I was told, \u201c<strong>Your steering is a bit late, so try turning earlier.<\/strong>\u201d I thought, \u201c<strong>If I turn that early, won\u2019t I oversteer?<\/strong>\u201d but that worry was completely unnecessary.<\/p>\n<p>With just a slight turn of the wheel, the car smoothly cornered without losing speed. I was reminded how important handling really is.<\/p>\n<p>The instructor explained,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">\u201cA car is like a living thing. Forcing it won\u2019t work well. <strong>You need to truly feel the car\u2019s behavior and drive accordingly.<\/strong> It\u2019s like when a dog on a walk wants to go a different way\u2014you can\u2019t just pull it forcibly. If you can learn this not just intellectually but physically, you\u2019ll be able to drive more smoothly and faster.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Driving a car is deep and complex. I want to get better at it.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_restaurant_food_was_tastier_and_the_service_improved\"><\/span>The restaurant food was tastier and the service improved<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>We had lunch at the restaurant, and I felt the food was better than before, and the service had improved. Previously, I thought the food was \u201ca bit bland\u201d and noticed that \u201ceven though many window-side seats were open, we couldn\u2019t sit there\u2026\u201d but this time, the food was delicious, and everyone there was seated by the windows, which was very satisfying.<\/p>\n<p>The kids also ate heartily.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31492\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/IMG_2320.jpeg\" alt=\"PEC Tokyo\" width=\"750\" height=\"562\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also, the staff were friendly and approachable, making it a very comfortable environment.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"It_might_be_a_bit_tough_with_small_children\"><\/span>It might be a bit tough with small children<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>That said, the kids did get bored, which is understandable.<\/p>\n<p>Each driving lesson lasts 90 minutes, and since my husband and I took turns (with lunch in between), even with a kids\u2019 space, <strong>it seemed like a boring time for the children.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If we come again, I think it would be better for the kids to stay with one parent while the other couple enjoys the experience alone.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31493\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/IMG_2319.jpeg\" alt=\"PEC Tokyo\" width=\"470\" height=\"626\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"I_want_to_go_to_the_driving_school_again\"><\/span>I want to go to the driving school again<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I\u2019m really glad I got to visit PEC Tokyo again after a while.<\/p>\n<p>Even if you usually drive a Porsche, you never do full acceleration and full braking, nor experience how the car behaves on slippery surfaces. I felt that <strong>experiencing driving at facilities like this is very important to safely enjoy Porsche every day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I haven\u2019t been to the Porsche Driving School (Porsche Track Experience) recently, but this visit made me want to go again. I want to learn the basics again and improve my driving skills.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31487\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/IMG_2265-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"PEC Tokyo\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The instructor told me,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">\u201cYour handling is smooth, your body reacts well to the car\u2019s behavior, and your full acceleration and braking are great\u2014you\u2019re really suited for the circuit! <strong>Give the circuit a try!<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That made me feel really good\u2026 (laughs) so maybe next year I\u2019ll aim to debut on the circuit with my Carrera T.<\/p>\n<p>But first, I need to finish the break-in period!
