I\u2019ve been driving it in various situations whenever I find the time, but since the break-in period isn\u2019t over yet, please wait a little longer for the final review.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31445\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_6468-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"992 Porsche 911 Carrera T logo\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For now, instead, I\u2019d like to focus this blog on what kind of 911 the Carrera T really is.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_History_of_the_Porsche_911_Carrera_T_Consistent_Purism\"><\/span>The History of the Porsche 911 Carrera T: Consistent Purism<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"First-generation_Porsche_911T_1968%E2%80%931973\"><\/span>First-generation Porsche 911T: 1968\u20131973<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The origins of the Porsche 911 Carrera T trace back to 1968.<\/p>\n<p>The first-generation Porsche 911T (not called \u201cCarrera T\u201d at the time) was, as the \u201cT\u201d indicates, a car certified as a touring car. <strong>\u201cT\u201d stood for \u201cTouring,\u201d a designation for applying for homologation in the touring car class, and referred to a model offering drivers a pure driving experience\u200b\u200b.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Initially positioned as an affordable alternative to the Porsche 912, it shared cylinder heads and valve sizes with the 911S and also served as a base car for racing.<\/p>\n<p>This first-generation model was offered until 1973, but <strong>for several decades after, the \u201cT\u201d name disappeared from Porsche\u2019s lineup.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31461\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/carrerat.jpg\" alt=\"First-generation 911T\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Revival_of_the_911_Carrera_T_2017\"><\/span>The Revival of the 911 Carrera T: 2017<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>In 2017, Porsche revived the 911 Carrera T in the later phase of the 991 generation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This model inherited the spirit of the original, featuring a simple yet specially sporty setup. <strong>Options like rear-axle steering, previously only available on the S and above, were selectable, and the car was lightweight.<\/strong> It was announced as a sort of younger sibling to the 991 late GT3 Touring Package, which is still fresh in memory.<\/p>\n<p>A manual transmission was available (unfortunately, only the PDK was offered in Japan), making it a 911 for Porsche purists who seek driving pleasure.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31462\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/P17_0892_a3_rgb-1280x962.jpg\" alt=\"991 Carrera T\" width=\"1280\" height=\"962\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Notably, this concept was later adopted in other model lines such as the 718 Cayman T, 718 Boxster T, and Macan T.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Porsche_911_Carrera_T_Today_2023_Model\"><\/span>The Porsche 911 Carrera T Today: 2023 Model<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Engine_and_Performance\"><\/span>Engine and Performance<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The new 911 Carrera T is positioned <strong>between the 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31459\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_6309-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"992 Porsche 911 Carrera T\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This car is equipped with the base Carrera\u2019s 283 kW (385 PS) twin-turbo engine, delivering 450 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km\/h in 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 291 km\/h. The rear seats are omitted as standard, and <strong>lightweight glass and a lithium-ion battery further reduce weight.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Weighing in at 1470 kg, <strong>the 911 Carrera T with manual transmission is the lightest in the 911 Carrera lineup.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31448\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_6374-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"992 Porsche 911 Carrera T manual transmission\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Chassis_and_Suspension\"><\/span>Chassis and Suspension<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The 911 Carrera T comes standard with <strong>the Sport Chrono package and PASM sports suspension lowered by 10 mm<\/strong>, features unique to the Carrera T when paired with the 385-PS engine.<\/p>\n<p>Upon request, the Carrera T can also be ordered with the optional rear-axle steering, usually only available on Carrera S and above. Naturally, I didn\u2019t hesitate to add this option.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31454\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DSC02168-1280x853.jpeg\" alt=\"992 Porsche 911 Carrera T wheels\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The car rides on titanium gray Carrera S wheels, 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear, fitted with 245\/35 front and 305\/30 rear tires.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Exterior_and_Interior\"><\/span>Exterior and Interior<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>On the exterior, the 911 Carrera T stands out with door mirrors, rear badges, and the rear engine hatch all painted in <strong>Agate Grey<\/strong>, setting it apart from other models. The sport exhaust system\u2019s tailpipes feature a high-gloss black finish, emphasizing a more dynamic look.<\/p>\n<p>The Agate Grey accent on the door mirrors is especially cool. Admittedly, I only noticed this after delivery, but it\u2019s sporty, stylish, and very appealing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31456\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_6315-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"992 Porsche 911 Carrera T mirrors\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-31447\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_6381-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"992 Porsche 911 Carrera T 18-way seats\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The interior comes standard with Sports Seats Plus. <strong>We chose the 18-way option for our Carrera T, and indeed, the 992 is best experienced with the Sports Seats Plus.<\/strong> Compared to the Sports Seats selected for the Carrera Cabriolet, the comfort and especially the seat cushion thickness are noticeably different.<\/p>\n<p>There is also an optional Carrera T Interior Package, which we selected without hesitation. Its lightweight design and high-performance engine are extremely well balanced, making it an ideal choice for Porsche enthusiasts who pursue pure driving pleasure.<\/p>\n<p>While the new Carrera T essentially sits between the 911 Carrera and Carrera S, it is more than that. <strong>Its engine performance, chassis tuning, dedication to weight reduction, and interior and exterior design are all meticulously calculated to elevate the driving experience.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All these elements combine to form the perfect partner for drivers who love pure driving. It excels not only in sports driving but also adapts beautifully to daily use. This is a 911 that prioritizes feel over mere speed.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, our Carrera T is equipped with numerous options. <strong>Sports Seats Plus, rear-axle steering, and the Carrera T Interior Package<\/strong> each enhance the car\u2019s appeal even further.<\/p>\n<p>With so much charm, the price is justified.
