{"id":36876,"date":"2023-03-06T06:00:49","date_gmt":"2023-03-05T21:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/?p=36876"},"modified":"2023-03-06T07:56:22","modified_gmt":"2023-03-05T22:56:22","slug":"porsche_festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/en\/entry\/porsche_festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Porsche Festival Celebrating Porsche\u2019s 75th Anniversary\uff5cCan We Join Too?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"style3a\">Porsche Festival<\/h3>\n<p>This year marks Porsche\u2019s 75th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate, <strong>a press release was issued in February announcing \u201cPorsche Festival,\u201d one of Asia\u2019s largest community events hosted by Porsche Japan, taking place from Saturday, June 3rd to Sunday, June 4th.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At that time, the <strong>venue was still undecided<\/strong>, so my husband and I made some guesses about where it might be held.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">On June 3rd and 4th, the Super GT race is held at Suzuka Circuit. Since the Porsche Carrera Cup Japan (PCCJ) usually runs as a support race, maybe the Porsche Festival would also be at Suzuka.<br \/>\nBut Super GT draws huge crowds and the parking gets really crowded\u2026 so holding a Porsche-only event there might be impossible.<br \/>\nHow about Fuji Speedway? Looking at Fuji Speedway\u2019s June schedule, there don\u2019t seem to be any events or races planned yet, so maybe it\u2019s still being arranged.<br \/>\nMost Porsche Japan events so far have been held at Fuji Speedway, so it\u2019s probably going to be there after all.<\/p>\n<p>We were chatting back and forth like this, but\u2026<\/p>\n<p>When the press release announcing the venue was finally published recently, our predictions were completely off \u2014 it said the event would be held at <strong>\u201cPEC (Porsche Experience Center) Tokyo\u201d<\/strong> (laughs).<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s described as one of Asia\u2019s largest community events, but <strong>the PEC Tokyo parking lot isn\u2019t that big, so it seems impossible to accommodate a large crowd\u2026 I wonder how they\u2019ll handle applications?<\/strong> Curious, I checked the website and found:<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>Please wait for applications to open after April. Anyone can apply.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since it says \u201capply,\u201d I guess there will be a lottery\u2026 The event is free to attend (just cover your own travel expenses), so I imagine quite a few people will apply.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Past Porsche Events<\/h3>\n<p>On the day, special cars will be on display and special content will be offered.<\/p>\n<p>We participated in the 2018 event celebrating Porsche\u2019s 70th anniversary, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/porsche-experience-day-2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Porsche Experience Day<\/a>,<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30839\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_6490-1024x768-1.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Panamera\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and also joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/porsche-sportscar-together-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cPorsche Sportscar Together Day 2019\u201d<\/a> held the following year.<br \/>\nBoth were impressive events featuring <strong>displays of new and classic cars, watching PCCJ (Carrera Cup Japan) races, e-sports race viewing, and participation in parade runs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30843\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_1272-800x533-1.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In addition, we enjoyed admiring the amazing cars brought by the participants,<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30842\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_3505-800x533-1.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche 911\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30841\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/IMG_1287-800x533-1.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Carrera GT\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and even got to meet some of our blog readers, which was a lot of fun.<\/p>\n<p>Four years have passed since then, and now it\u2019s Porsche\u2019s 75th anniversary.
