They get up early and prepare because they want to be told they look cute. <strong>With that in mind, I hope men will treat women to the date expenses.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That was the gist of it.<\/p>\n<p>Then, my husband tweeted a response based on that, which got quite a few retweets.  <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"ja\">Why do we have to split the bill on dates? Porsche drivers prepare for those dates with 18-way seats, PCCB, and sport chrono packages included. None of that is cheap. Even approved tires cost around 300,000 yen. I put decals on to be told I look cool. Considering all that, I want to split the bill! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oxpeYmNs7L\">pic.twitter.com\/oxpeYmNs7L<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Hiro@\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u304c\u308f\u304c\u5bb6\u306b\u3084\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f (@boxster_gts) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/boxster_gts\/status\/1625466302780551169?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 14, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Some comments said, \u201c<strong>Since he drives a Porsche, he should at least pay for the date!<\/strong>\u201d but my husband just chuckled and said, \u201c<strong>I was just joking casually when I tweeted that&#8230;<\/strong>\u201d  <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Matter_of_Different_Values_Between_Men_and_Women\"><\/span>A Matter of Different Values Between Men and Women<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The debate over who should treat whom between men and women is probably an endless, recurring argument. Since people have various values, perceptions differ greatly depending on individual beliefs.<\/p>\n<p>What I think is that <strong>\u201cit\u2019s truly a blessing for both sides to connect and be with someone whose values align with their own.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Women who want to be treated should date men who believe <strong>\u201cI want to treat women.\u201d<\/strong> Men who prefer to split the bill should date women who think <strong>\u201csplitting is the norm.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While looks and personality are important in relationships, over the long term, <strong>sharing similar values (or being compatible) becomes a crucial point.<\/strong> (Though I don\u2019t think anyone matches perfectly on every value.)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/IMG_8347-800x600-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 GT3\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By the way, I\u2019m not the type who expects men to pay on dates.<\/p>\n<p>My stance was <strong>\u201cI pay for what I eat myself (though I\u2019m happy if someone else pays).\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since I assumed I\u2019d pay my share, I wasn\u2019t keen on going to expensive places. When my husband asked me what I wanted for lunch on our first date alone, I answered seriously, <strong>\u201cKappa Sushi.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He was surprised and said, <strong>\u201cWhat!? Don\u2019t you go to fancy restaurants on occasions like this!?\u201d<\/strong> I replied, <strong>\u201cI love fast, tasty, and cheap food, lol.\u201d<\/strong> I remember giving such an unromantic answer (though he ended up treating me every time\u2026).<\/p>\n<p>Also, even back then, I casually said things like <strong>\u201cSpending a lot on weddings is wasteful, so keep it minimal,\u201d \u201cI don\u2019t need an engagement ring because I never wear jewelry,\u201d and \u201cI hate crowds and waiting, so I don\u2019t want to go to fireworks or festivals.\u201d<\/strong> So I guess my views are quite different from those of most women.<\/p>\n<p>Because of that, I think I get along well with my equally pragmatic husband, but if I were with a man who:<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbWants me to dress up properly for dates.<br \/>\n\u30fbWants me to spend money on cosmetics and clothes and always keep myself polished.<br \/>\n\u30fbBuys me clothes and bags but expects me to stay beautiful forever.<\/p>\n<p>I probably wouldn\u2019t be compatible with him at all, and I doubt I\u2019d even catch his eye or become a romantic interest, lol.<\/p>\n<p>So I really believe that rather than who pays or gets treated, <strong>matching values is what truly matters.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Becoming_Financially_Independent\"><\/span>Becoming Financially Independent<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Along with matching values, I also think it\u2019s important to keep improving yourself internally through awareness and action.<\/p>\n<p>Some time ago, a response from the CEO of JP Morgan to a woman\u2019s question, <strong>\u201cI think I\u2019m a young, beautiful woman, but how can I marry a wealthy man earning over $500,000 a year?\u201d<\/strong> became a hot topic.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s an excerpt from his answer:  <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>From a businessman\u2019s perspective, you\u2019re exchanging your \u201cbeauty\u201d for my \u201cmoney.\u201d That\u2019s a big problem. My \u201cmoney\u201d grows every year (setting aside the risk of layoffs during recessions), but your beauty doesn\u2019t necessarily improve every year.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, I\u2019m considered an \u201cattractive asset,\u201d but you\u2019re judged as having \u201clow asset value.\u201d On Wall Street, when trading assets with low value, there\u2019s \u201cshort-term trading,\u201d and if the asset value is low, it stays \u201cshort-term\u201d and never becomes \u201clong-term,\u201d which corresponds to your idea of \u201cmarriage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To put it bluntly, you\u2019re better off as a \u201cdate partner\u201d or \u201cshort-term trade,\u201d not a \u201cmarriage partner.\u201d My advice is, instead of looking for a rich fool, it\u2019s better to earn $1 million yourself.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When I read this, I thought, \u201cWow, that really makes sense!\u201d and it helped me understand a lot.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t feel like I can earn $1 million a year myself just yet\u2026 (laughs) but I want to keep growing and working hard to be able to earn more and more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Is It Natural for Men to Pay?
