Choosing a Color for My 911<\/h3>\n

The other day, I wrote about ordering a 911<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ever since I started this blog, I\u2019ve written that \u201cmy goal is to buy a Porsche with my own money someday.\u201d<\/strong> So I\u2019ve received lots of messages from readers.<\/p>\n

Some of you have been following the blog since the early days and told me, \u201cI\u2019m as happy as if it were happening to me!<\/strong>\u201d I\u2019m so grateful for your warmth and support. Thank you.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t share the exact model or specification just yet, but today I\u2019d like to tell you which body color I chose<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Why I Chose a Crayon Porsche 911<\/h3>\n

As the title of this blog post gives away, I chose \u201cCrayon\u201d for the body color. So, let me share the colors I considered and why I ultimately went with Crayon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

1. Guards Red<\/h4>\n

Some of you may be thinking, \u201cWait, hasn\u2019t Mina always said she was going to buy a bright red Porsche?<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

In fact, even back when it was only a dream, I spent a long time configuring a 911 in Guards Red, thinking, \u201cIf I buy one\u2026<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Porsche<\/p>\n

Whenever I browsed 911s on CarSensor, I filtered for red cars, too. And my current car, a Suzuki Swift Sport, is red.<\/p>\n

But when it came time to actually buy a Porsche, I started thinking more practically about things like resale value. I began to wonder, \u201cIs red really the right choice\u2026?<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI might keep the car for a long time, but I might sell it someday, too. I could buy it and then find I can\u2019t afford to keep it, leaving me with no choice but to sell. Considering resale value, should I really choose red?<\/strong>
\nBut if I don\u2019t choose the red I\u2019ve always dreamed of, will I regret it later?\u201d<\/p>\n

And so on.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d often said things like, \u201cIn Japan, most people choose white or black for their car. But if you\u2019re buying a sports car, why not pick a bolder color?<\/strong>\u201d Easy enough to say\u2014until I had to make the choice myself. When it came down to it, I got cold feet (sorry\u2026).<\/p>\n

These days, I have nothing but respect for people who go for a Porsche in a bold, vivid color. lol<\/p>\n

2. Jet Black Metallic<\/h4>\n

When I thought about resale value, I figured white or black would be the safer bet<\/strong>, so next I chose Jet Black Metallic.<\/p>\n

\"Porsche<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no denying it: the car looked fantastic from every angle.<\/p>\n

Still, I wondered if black might lose some of the feeling of a Porsche driven by a woman. \u201cEven so, it looks great, and it should hold its value well.<\/strong>\u201d I sent my configuration in Jet Black Metallic to H, my contact at the Porsche Center (PC), and got this reply:<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you sure you\u2019d like black? I was sure you were going to choose red, so I just wanted to check.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWait! Now that you\u2019ve said that, maybe I should go with red after all!<\/strong>\u201d My mind changed all over again, and I switched back to Guards Red for a while. lol<\/p>\n

3. Crayon<\/h4>\n

Then my husband happened to get the chance to take a friend\u2019s 911 for a test drive. When he got home, the first thing he said was:<\/p>\n

\u201cThat Crayon 911 is seriously cool!!! My GT3 was Crayon, too, so I thought it might be a bit much for our next 911 to be the same color\u2014maybe red would be better. But Crayon really is unbeatable!<\/strong>
\nIt should hold its value well, too. And a woman driving a Crayon 911? That\u2019s incredibly cool!\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Porsche<\/p>\n

That sent my thoughts spinning again. After seeing photos and checking the color in the configurator, I had to admit that Crayon looked fantastic.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d been agonizing over the decision, but somehow, it suddenly clicked: \u201cAh, it has to be Crayon.\u201d<\/strong> After going back and forth so many times, I finally settled on Crayon for the body color.<\/p>\n

Looking back, it was a strangely wonderful feeling.<\/p>\n
