Thank you for continuing to follow \u201cWelcome Home, PORSCHE\u201d in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>At the start of the year, my husband posted this as his <strong>mission statement for the year<\/strong> on Twitter:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"ja\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/%E4%BB%8A%E5%B9%B4%E3%81%AE%E3%83%9F%E3%83%83%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A7%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B9%E3%83%86%E3%83%BC%E3%83%88%E3%83%A1%E3%83%B3%E3%83%88?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#MissionStatementForThisYear<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u30fbFocus on interesting, fun things that bring joy to the heart<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbAct proactively on what others ask of you<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbBe mindful of making others happy in your actions<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbConsider problems as your own responsibility and improve your thinking and behavior<\/p>\n<p>\u30fbUse your abilities to make the world a better place<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Hiro @ Welcome Home, PORSCHE (@boxster_gts) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/boxster_gts\/status\/1609497709161107456?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 1, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>When I asked him <strong>why he felt this way this year<\/strong>, he answered:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">I\u2019ve been thinking and acting like this for a few years now, but this year I decided to put it into words clearly.<\/p>\n<p>I see\u2026 putting it into words and sharing it with those around you is really important.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30489\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/IMG_0925.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Boxster\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As for me, for the past few years I\u2019ve set a goal to <strong>try at least one new thing every year, no matter how small<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>When I was younger and working at a company, I was often tasked with mentoring juniors or involved in new projects, so there was always some kind of change.<\/p>\n<p>But around my mid-30s, I realized <strong>if I don\u2019t take initiative, nothing changes and I don\u2019t feel any growth<\/strong>, so I decided to make sure I could feel that <strong>&#8220;last year I could do something I couldn\u2019t before&#8221; or &#8220;I saw a view I hadn\u2019t seen before&#8221;<\/strong>, no matter how small.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, my goals have included <strong>learning to drive a manual car and starting to study English<\/strong> (both unrelated to work, haha), but this year, 2023, my biggest challenge will be fulfilling my long-time dream of <strong>owning a Porsche with my own money<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Strictly speaking, I signed the contract for the 911 at the end of 2022\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Still, since the real journey begins after delivery, I see this as a huge challenge for myself\u2014to <strong>earn enough to maintain the 911 and become the kind of person worthy of it<\/strong>. (I hope to share more about the order process on the blog soon.)<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">More Ambitious Than Ever at Work<\/h3>\n<p>Strangely, after ordering the 911, my work luck seemed to change.<\/p>\n<p>Taking a leap of faith to order the 911 and pay the deposit, I started thinking, <strong>&#8220;I need to save the down payment before delivery. Considering the monthly loan, I have to earn more!&#8221;<\/strong> From then on, a series of events pushed me to seriously face my work.<\/p>\n<p>It felt like an invisible force was saying, <strong>&#8220;If you\u2019re going to buy a Porsche, you can\u2019t stay as you are. You have to work harder!&#8221;<\/strong>\u2014creating an environment that gave me a wake-up call.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve faced more challenges head-on and overcome them one by one.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30490\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/AD1B25E3-2727-4D1E-BE01-C83A75DBC66B-1280x854-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche 911\" width=\"1280\" height=\"854\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For the past five years, I\u2019ve scaled back work to focus on raising our three children.<\/p>\n<p>Between parenting, housework, and blogging, the days fly by, but I\u2019ve always felt strongly that <strong>I put family first (based on past tough experiences) and don\u2019t want to lose balance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Looking back, I think deep down I felt:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">\u201cAt this age, starting from scratch and going all out again is exhausting. Isn\u2019t it enough as it is?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But after going around in circles, I realized <strong>my nature is to enjoy working hard and achieving things<\/strong>, so if the opportunity is there, I want to give it my best.<\/p>\n<p>Most importantly, my kids have recently started supporting me working. The other day, my eldest daughter said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">\u201cI want to be a CEO someday too, so Mom, please teach me lots when that time comes!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That really touched me (I\u2019ll have to earn even more by then, haha). As my children grow, our relationship and boundaries are gradually changing, and while I still work mainly from home, I feel the environment is becoming more supportive of my work challenges.<\/p>\n<p>So, for 2023, I want to adopt a phrase famously used by Antonio Inoki as my personal theme (suddenly, haha):<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">If you go down this road, what will happen?<br \/>\nDon\u2019t be afraid.<br \/>\nIf you are afraid, there is no road.<br \/>\nTake a step forward,<br \/>\nThat step becomes the road,<br \/>\nThat step becomes the road.<br \/>\nGo without hesitation,<br \/>\nYou\u2019ll understand when you go.<br \/>\n\u2014 Antonio Inoki<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">With energy, anything is possible!
