So maybe it\u2019s better to <strong>choose a family car that prioritizes comfort instead<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Of course, we still want the basic car qualities of \u201c<strong>going, stopping, and cornering<\/strong>,\u201d but beyond that, we don\u2019t really need things like <strong>\u201cperfect harmony between car and driver,\u201d \u201chandling that laughs off winding roads,\u201d or \u201cpowerful acceleration merging onto highways.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Also, friends and readers have often advised us, \u201c<strong>It\u2019s totally fine to pick a family car from another brand that offers more comfort.<\/strong>\u201d Taking all that into account, after some consideration, we recently welcomed a GLB as our family car.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-30262\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/3328B7A7-9098-4641-B536-80352944B07C-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Mercedes-Benz GLB\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Experiencing_the_Comfort_of_the_GLB\"><\/span>Experiencing the Comfort of the GLB<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Since the GLB was delivered, I\u2019ve been driving it occasionally, and it\u2019s truly comfortable and easy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Especially, it just feels relaxing (laughs).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With a Porsche, the moment you start the engine and grip the steering wheel, you often get that \u201c<strong>Let\u2019s drive hard!<\/strong>\u201d aggressive mindset. Especially with the GT3 (MT) we had before, my husband said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cThe GT3 leaves no escape for the driver. You feel like you\u2019re running as a team with the car, so you can\u2019t let your guard down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While that\u2019s part of the fun, it also makes it harder to just hop in and drive casually.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the GLB (especially ours, the 200d) lets you drive slowly and comfortably with a relaxed mindset.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, I even drove it on the highway, and the <strong>Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC (adaptive cruise control) was incredibly comfortable and effortless.<\/strong> Since I could trust the car to handle things, when I arrived at my destination, I felt like, \u201c<strong>Wait, we\u2019re already here?<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also, with Mercedes-Benz, <strong>the interior is elegant and luxurious, the instrument cluster looks cool, and driving it just feels great.<\/strong> The illuminated cabin at night and ambient lighting are very stylish and calming.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-30354\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/47DD5395-76AA-4326-81AB-E0A691DC7364-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"GLB200d 4MATIC\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This comfort is a big hit with the kids too, so the GLB has quickly become everyone\u2019s favorite\u2014a car the whole family can ride in comfortably and happily.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Our_Current_Car_Life\"><\/span>Our Current Car Life<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>A fun-to-drive car and a comfortable, easy-to-ride car.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, it would be ideal to have one car that satisfies both, but that usually means stepping up to a larger class with wider body dimensions, which often doesn\u2019t fit our current family\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<p>In that sense, our family has settled on <strong>separating \u201ccars for driving enjoyment\u201d and \u201ccars for comfortable family travel.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s like sushi is delicious, steak is delicious, but mixing the two? Well\u2026 maybe not so much (I\u2019m not great at analogies\u2026).<\/p>\n<p>Right now, with our three kids still young, this is the kind of car life that suits us, but I\u2019m sure our criteria for choosing cars will keep evolving as our situation changes.<\/p>\n<p>In the future, my desire to \u201c<strong>ride a Panamera again<\/strong>\u201d won\u2019t change, but I hope to keep enjoying a car life that fits our family\u2019s growth and circumstances at each stage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Driving Fun or Comfort?
