Here are the differences:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">\u25a0Standard Pressure: The usual Porsche tire pressure for typical driving comfort. It\u2019s set a bit firmer.<br \/>\n\u25a0Comfort Pressure: A slightly reduced, softer setting to improve ride comfort.<\/p>\n<p>From the touchscreen, navigate to \u201cVehicle \u2192 Control Vehicle \u2192 Tire Pressure Monitoring,\u201d and checking the Comfort Pressure box switches to Comfort Pressure; unchecking it reverts to Standard Pressure.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4317 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_7541-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One important note: <strong>Comfort Pressure is only valid up to 160 km\/h in Japan, so exceeding that speed will trigger a warning.<\/strong> <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(In Germany, it\u2019s valid up to 270 km\/h, and for the Boxster, it\u2019s 270 km\/h even in Japan.)<\/span> While you might never drive over 160 km\/h on Japanese roads, <strong>if you find the warnings annoying, it\u2019s better to stick with Standard Pressure.<\/strong> Our family prefers a firmer ride, so we keep it on Standard Pressure.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Correct_Way_to_Inflate_Porsche_Tires\"><\/span>The Correct Way to Inflate Porsche Tires<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>When inflating tires, you\u2019ll use the \u201cTire Pressure\u201d display on the instrument cluster as a reference, but there\u2019s a crucial point to keep in mind: <strong>do not adjust the pressure based on the \u201ccurrent pressure\u201d reading.<\/strong> For example, don\u2019t think \u201cI want 2.5 bar, but it currently shows 2.2 bar, so I\u2019ll add 0.3 bar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is because the \u201ccurrent pressure\u201d reading does not take tire temperature into account.<\/strong> <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(The standard tire pressure is based on a cold tire temperature of 20\u00b0C.)<\/span> Usually, you drive to the gas station before inflating, which raises the tire temperature and pressure during driving. Inflating at this point will cause the pressure to be too low once the tires cool down.<\/p>\n<p>The Panamera manual states:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">Tire Pressure \u2192 The displayed current pressure is for information only. Tire pressure varies with temperature. Under no circumstances should you adjust tire pressure based on this display.<\/p>\n<p>So what should you base your adjustments on? It\u2019s the <strong>\u201cpressure deviation\u201d value within the \u201cTire Pressure\u201d menu.<\/strong> This \u201cpressure deviation\u201d accounts for tire temperature and shows the difference from the specified pressure for each wheel.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4318 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/\u30b9\u30af\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u30b7\u30e7\u30c3\u30c8\uff082018-08-16-11.03.13\uff09.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"558\" height=\"335\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the image above, the right rear wheel shows \u201c\u22120.1 bar,\u201d meaning <strong>\u201cAdd 0.1 bar of air to the right rear tire.\u201d<\/strong> Adjust the tire pressures based on these readings until all four wheels show \u201c0.0 bar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you have a gas station attendant inflate your tires, you must instruct them <strong>not by saying \u201cSet it to 2.8,\u201d but rather \u201cAdd 0.3 more,\u201d or similar.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tire_Pressure_Affects_Ride_Comfort\"><\/span>Tire Pressure Affects Ride Comfort<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>After inflating the tires this way and driving, you\u2019ll notice <strong>how light the tires feel and how clearly the rolling resistance improves.<\/strong> On rough roads, you might feel a slight bounce, but on smooth surfaces, the ride feels silky smooth. When cornering at a brisk pace, you can feel the tires gripping firmly without any looseness. My husband said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cNow I get why when I took delivery of my Boxster, the dealer\u2019s H-san said, <strong>\u2018When adjusting tire pressure, always use the car\u2019s display, not the air pump\u2019s gauge.\u2019<\/strong> This is super important!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The manual also advises checking tire pressure at least once every two weeks when the tires are cold. Our family checks about once a month, but especially in summer, the pressure drops more frequently, so regular checks are recommended.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;That said, I\u2019ve never actually inflated the tires myself <span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(I\u2019m usually just the one telling my husband at the gas station, \u201cAdd 0.1 more! Oh, too much!
