Panamera Sport Turismo<\/h3>\n

A few months ago, my brother-in-law purchased a Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo. I\u2019ve previously posted a comparison test drive article between the Panamera and the Panamera Sport Turismo on this blog. <\/p>\n

Today, I\u2019d like to introduce one of the options on this Panamera Sport Turismo: the \u201cAmbient Lighting\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ambient Lighting means \u201cthe illumination of the front footwells, overhead console, center console, and front and rear illuminated loudspeaker trims can be set to one of seven colors.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The option costs 77,000 yen.<\/p>\n

Since my brother-in-law bought the Panamera new from the dealer, it came with this Ambient Lighting option by chance. Since the Panamera is a luxury sedan, I guess many people choose to add options like this.<\/p>\n

Trying Out the Ambient Lighting<\/h3>\n

So, let me show you what it actually looks like when you turn on the Ambient Lighting at night. First, on the touchscreen, select \u201cVehicle \u2192 Controls \u2192 Ambient Lighting\u201d<\/strong>, and a screen appears where you can set the color and brightness.<\/p>\n

You can choose from seven colors like red, blue, green, etc.<\/strong>, and adjust brightness individually for the roof, doors, center console, and footwells.<\/strong> So, what does it actually look like? First, here\u2019s the overhead console.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The atmosphere inside the car changes slightly depending on the color. Next, here\u2019s the lighting at the front footwells.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And here\u2019s a wider shot showing the overall effect.<\/p>\n

I see… Well, that\u2019s basically the function.<\/p>\n

It really comes down to personal taste, but I prefer the standard lighting. If I went on a drive date with a guy and the interior suddenly lit up like this at night… I might be a bit put off (-_-). I\u2019d probably think, \u201cAh, we don\u2019t share the same taste.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Also, if I\u2019m going to spend nearly 80,000 yen on an option, I\u2019d find the Porsche Crest Embossed Headrests (embossed Porsche crest on front and rear headrests: 74,000 yen)<\/span> more appealing. …(Like this\u2193\u2193)<\/span><\/p>\n

Inside the Sport Turismo<\/h3>\n

As for the trunk, it definitely felt roomier and easier to load than the Panamera sedan.<\/strong> A commenter on this blog previously wrote, \u201cThe Panamera Sport Turismo\u2019s rear gate opens from bumper level, making it easier to load heavy, large suitcases.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The rear seats accommodate five passengers.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

If five people ride together, with adults on the sides and a child in the middle, it seems quite comfortable. The photo below shows the rear seats with a child mat installed.<\/p>\n

The optional sunroof is large and looks like it would feel great on sunny days.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Still, there are so many options I don\u2019t know about yet.
