None of the reports are commissioned by companies or manufacturers like professional automotive journalists.<\/p>\n<p>Because of this, we write our honest impressions without much bias, and many readers have told us that our reviews have been <strong>\u201chelpful when purchasing a car\u201d<\/strong> and that they <strong>\u201clook forward to the next test drive report.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thank you very much.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30334\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/61DFF227-6FE7-43A8-B1AF-2EBACA2AC371-1280x853-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche 911\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While we aim to write our test drive reports as <strong>\u201cas neutral and easy to understand as possible,\u201d<\/strong> personal preferences and subjectivity inevitably come into play. So today, I\u2019ve summarized some <strong>key points to keep in mind when reading these reports, which I believe will make them easier to understand.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Key_Points_for_Reading_Blog_Reviews\"><\/span>Key Points for Reading Blog Reviews<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Our_Family_Prioritizes_Driving_Performance\"><\/span>1. Our Family Prioritizes Driving Performance<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Our family tends to <strong>place great importance on driving performance.<\/strong> Therefore, rather than focusing on luxurious interiors or comfort features, we emphasize <strong>\u201cwhether the suspension is firm,\u201d \u201chow the handling and brakes feel,\u201d<\/strong> and review accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding ride comfort, we prefer a <strong>somewhat firm suspension with a strong road feel rather than a soft, cushy ride.<\/strong> We are also accustomed to Porsche\u2019s firmer suspension and ride quality (my Swift Sport is also lowered with firm springs).<\/p>\n<p>For example, when I drove the 992 GT3 Touring, I told the owner, <strong>\u201cI\u2019d heard it was very stiff, but it\u2019s surprisingly manageable even in city driving!\u201d<\/strong> He replied, <strong>\u201cNo, that\u2019s not usually the case. Relative Evaluation Over Absolute Evaluation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Every time we test drive a car, I often feel that <strong>\u201chuman perception is surprisingly unreliable.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even when driving the same car, <strong>the impression and evaluation can vary greatly depending on the ride and feel of the car you drove just before.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For example, with the recently delivered GLB, since I usually drive a Swift Sport, my first impression was <strong>\u201cIt\u2019s quite big!\u201d<\/strong> But if I had switched from our previous Cayenne, I think I would have felt its compactness more.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-30260\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/4EC4EB29-209C-4C49-8A72-050F77FFB043-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Mercedes-Benz GLB\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also, when I drive a 981 Boxster GTS right after a 992 Carrera, I feel <strong>\u201cThe Boxster\u2019s suspension is so supple\u2026 it\u2019s incredibly smooth, so even the passenger doesn\u2019t get tired.\u201d<\/strong> But after driving the GLB and then switching to the Boxster, I\u2019m amazed at <strong>\u201cWhat an incredible sense of rigidity!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why my husband always says he tries to write test drive articles <strong>\u201cas much as possible with comparisons to other cars and relative evaluations,\u201d<\/strong> keeping in mind that <strong>\u201chuman perception is unreliable.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Instead of simply saying <strong>\u201cthe ride is smooth,\u201d<\/strong> he writes <strong>\u201csmooth compared to XX,\u201d<\/strong> and compares acceleration, straight-line stability, handling, braking performance, and other points to convey a more balanced impression.<\/p>\n<p>In the future, I hope you\u2019ll also pay attention to <strong>\u201ccompared to what and how.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Including_Option_Information_Whenever_Possible\"><\/span>3. Including Option Information Whenever Possible<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>A car\u2019s driving characteristics can vary greatly depending on the options installed.<\/p>\n<p>Especially with Porsche, I often hear that <strong>choosing driving-related options can make the car feel like a completely different vehicle.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For example, when driving a Cayenne equipped with PDCC, the roll is significantly reduced even on mountain roads, making it more comfortable. Ride comfort also changes depending on whether it has air suspension or coil springs. Cars with rear axle steering, even Panameras, have excellent maneuverability.
