Someday, I definitely want to buy and own one with my own money<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_30163\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30163\" class=\"wp-image-30163 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/20170615124518-e1530666451656-700x480-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"480\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-30163\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">What\u2019s up with the way this steering wheel is being held\u2026<\/p><\/div>\n<p>That said, at that time, I had no real image of actually buying a Porsche\u2014it was just a distant goal for me.<\/p>\n<p>The first trigger that shifted my mindset to \u201c<strong>maybe I could actually buy one<\/strong>\u201d was being able to surround myself with Porsche owners.<\/p>\n<p>After starting this Porsche blog and running it together with my husband, I got to hear stories from Porsche owners he knew and was introduced to some of them, which helped me build connections with the Porsche community.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30164\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/IMG_1767-1-700x480-1.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche 911\" width=\"700\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then, hearing stories from Porsche owners around me about how they <strong>\u201cupgraded their Porsche\u201d or \u201cadded another one\u201d<\/strong>, I gradually became numb to the idea and thought, \u201c<strong>Porsches are actually something you can just buy like that, huh<\/strong>.\u201d lol<\/p>\n<p>The second trigger was <strong>buying a car myself<\/strong>. I had previously purchased a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/i-get-bmw320i-mt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BMW 320i<\/a> and my current beloved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/category\/suzuki-swiftsports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Suzuki Swift Sport<\/a> (both manual transmissions), and thanks to that, I was able to experience firsthand the process of buying a car and get a real sense of monthly payments.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-29989\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/IMG_3998.jpg\" alt=\"MT Suzuki Swift Sport\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That said, these two cars were priced around 2.3 million yen due to budget constraints, which is quite a gap from a Porsche\u2019s price\u2026 but I think the experience of buying a car with my own money was a big deal.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Push_I_Needed\"><\/span>The Push I Needed<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Around April last year, when I ordered the Swift Sport, I felt, \u201c<strong>With my current income, it\u2019s impossible to buy the Porsche I want<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At that time, I still had a significant amount of debt from loans taken out when I started my company in my 20s, and all the income I earned from blogging (which was very little) and working while raising kids went straight toward paying off that debt.<\/p>\n<p>In that situation,<\/p>\n<p>I felt, \u201c<strong>It\u2019s still a long way off before I finish paying off my debts, save a down payment, and be able to maintain a Porsche<\/strong>,\u201d but at the same time, \u201c<strong>Nothing will change if I just keep thinking like this\u2014I have to make a change myself<\/strong>,\u201d and those feelings battled for months\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Then, in June last year, I got a push from a senior entrepreneur who had been supporting me, which led me to start a second company.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-29959\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/EUviptlUMAAW3Ce-1280x853-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche Boxster\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Things really started moving this summer. I casually mentioned to a Porsche owner acquaintance, \u201c<strong>When the facelifted 992 is announced, I might buy that\u2026<\/strong>\u201d and they said this to me:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">\u201cMina, I think waiting is an option, but if you keep saying that, you might miss the chance to buy at the moment you really want it. The early 992 models still aren\u2019t widely available in Japan, and people who want one are still waiting for production slots. We don\u2019t even know when the facelifted 992 will come out. <strong>If you really want it, I think you should start moving now<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That pushed me forward. I went home, immediately talked to my husband, and the next day contacted my sales rep, Mr. H, saying, \u201c<strong>If the opportunity to buy a 911 comes up again, I definitely want to reserve one<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That was the third trigger.<\/p>\n<p>After saying that, I remember feeling strangely calm, thinking, \u201c<strong>Oh, I actually said it\u2026 it\u2019s surprisingly straightforward<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And that sparked a fire in me to <strong>earn more!<\/strong> (the fourth trigger).<\/p>\n<p>When I ran the numbers for the down payment and monthly loan payments, I was shocked by the amount and realized, \u201c<strong>Even if I buy it, I\u2019ll need to earn more to cover maintenance, inspections, and other upkeep costs<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One day, a senior entrepreneur I work with said this to me:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">There comes a time when you have to make a firm decision and focus on one thing. I think now is that time. The players are all in place. All that\u2019s left is for you to make that decision. Once you do, things will start moving. Everyone around you is waiting for that.<\/p>\n<p>Since becoming a working adult, I\u2019ve always been dedicated to work. Even after giving birth, I threw myself into work, neglecting childcare, which made me feel I had let my children down and gave me many things to reflect on.<\/p>\n<p>So, for the past few years, I\u2019ve scaled back work and made family (childcare) my top priority.<\/p>\n<p>But at the same time, <strong>I got too comfortable with that and became scared to put myself in a new environment and take on big challenges<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After various experiences, I believe my core value of putting family first won\u2019t change, so now I feel it\u2019s time to trust myself and take a bold step forward.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Summary\"><\/span>Summary<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>To summarize the triggers:<\/p>\n<p>\u2460 I surrounded myself with Porsche owners.<br \/>\n\u2461 I bought a car myself.<br \/>\n\u2462 I told the dealership I wanted to buy a Porsche lol.<br \/>\n\u2463 I seriously started thinking about how to earn more and took action.<\/p>\n<p>Some readers might think, \u201c<strong>Is it really worth pushing so hard and going to such lengths just to buy a Porsche?<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In reality, a Porsche isn\u2019t something essential for daily life, and I can live perfectly fine without one. There\u2019s no absolute need to buy one.<\/p>\n<p>But still, I have this feeling that \u201c<strong>I want to own one myself at least once before making a judgment<\/strong>.\u201d Maybe after buying it, I\u2019ll think, \u201c<strong>I don\u2019t really need it<\/strong>,\u201d or maybe a whole new world will open up for me (the rabbit hole looks deep lol).<\/p>\n<p><strong>You just won\u2019t know until you actually buy one.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even after making this decision, there\u2019s still a very real chance I won\u2019t get an allocation and won\u2019t be able to buy one\u2026 and I kind of expect that might happen lol.
