First Production Model Rolls Off the Line<\/h3>\n

On August 30th last month, Porsche announced that the first production model of the new Macan has been completed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Macan was introduced at the Los Angeles Motor Show in autumn 2013 as a compact SUV slightly smaller than the Cayenne.<\/strong> It went on sale the following year in 2014 and has since grown into a popular model with over 350,000 units sold worldwide.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now, the first unit of the improved second-generation Macan has rolled off the production line at Porsche\u2019s Leipzig plant in Germany.<\/strong> (Two-door models are produced at the Stuttgart headquarters, while four-door models like the Panamera, Macan, and Cayenne are manufactured at the Leipzig plant.)<\/span><\/p>\n

The new Macan comes standard with the latest LED headlights.<\/p>\n

They look like they\u2019ll illuminate incredibly far ahead. And if you look closely, the headlights feature the \u201cPORSCHE\u201d logo inside. (I found the logo inside the headlights of our Panamera too when I looked closely.)<\/span>

At the rear, like the latest Panamera and Cayenne models, it features a new design tail lamp that stretches across the width, and a four-lamp brake light setup.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The dashboard design has been significantly updated, and the center console\u2019s touchscreen is larger and easier to operate.<\/p>\n

Regarding the steering wheel, you can optionally choose the GT Sport steering wheel.<\/strong> Selecting the \u201cSport Chrono Package\u201d adds a mode switch and a Sport Response button to the steering wheel.<\/p>\n

The new Macan has achieved improved comfort while maintaining driving stability, surpassing the performance of the previous model.<\/strong> Production is set to reach 420 units per day starting early September, and rumors suggest it may be released in Japan as early as late 2018 or early 2019.<\/p>\n

Also, Porsche\u2019s YouTube channel has videos showcasing the new Macan\u2019s exterior and some interior features. The concept is quite different from the 911 or Panamera, which felt fresh and somewhat un-Porsche-like in a good way.<\/p>\n
