It left such a strong impression that it still comes up in conversation from time to time.<\/p>\n<p>Back then, I wasn\u2019t interested in cars at all, so even when he suggested, \u201c<strong>Why don\u2019t you try driving it?<\/strong>\u201d I stubbornly refused, saying \u201c<strong>No, I\u2019m fine<\/strong>,\u201d and I don\u2019t remember the ride quality of that Macan at all. (What a waste\u2026)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30110\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/E5BE73E3-E716-49DD-9488-C7ED6195A61A-800x533-1.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Macan interior\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also, many people around me have said about the early Macan, \u201c<strong>I really love it<\/strong>\u201d or \u201c<strong>I want to drive it again<\/strong>,\u201d so I thought, \u201c<strong>The early Macan must be really good\u2014I\u2019d love to try it once<\/strong>.\u201d And this time, I was given the opportunity to drive it.<\/p>\n<p>My husband will probably write a detailed review, so this time I\u2019d like to share my impressions from a wife\u2019s perspective briefly.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Impressions_of_the_Early_Model_Macan_S\"><\/span>Impressions of the Early Model Macan S<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>To sum it up, it was really good.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t know every Porsche well enough to speak like an expert, but from the moment I started driving, I found myself smiling and thinking, \u201c<strong>Ah, this is it, this is Porsche<\/strong><strong>, this is the one<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I even ended up texting my husband, \u201c<strong>I really love this Macan~<\/strong>\u201d lol<\/p>\n<p>My husband often says that when test-driving a car, \u201c<strong>how you feel in the first two seconds<\/strong>\u201d is very important, and that was exactly the case with this Macan S\u2014I thought, \u201c<strong>This is good!<\/strong>\u201d right away.<\/p>\n<p>What stood out was the <strong>solid feel, groundedness, and the confidence in the suspension<\/strong>. From those sensations, I strongly felt the Porsche character, and I thought this is a car that really makes you feel \u201c<strong>I\u2019m driving a Porsche<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-30111\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/FgskUGvacAIbcVu-1280x960.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche Macan\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve heard that modern cars, regardless of manufacturer, tend to have lighter steering, pedals, and overall feel. Of course, lighter can mean easier to drive, which is good, but personally, I prefer <strong>cars with a solid, substantial feel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I like cars that grip the road firmly, have somewhat firm suspension, yet still offer a smooth ride. The ride of the Panamera Turbo we had before was exactly my taste.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30112\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/IMG_8640-1.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche Panamera\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also, the engine sound of this early Macan S was very nice. The tone was natural\u2014not too loud, not too quiet\u2014a pleasant engine sound. It reminded me again how much the pleasure of driving is tied to how good the engine sounds.<\/p>\n<p>The newer Macan I drove before might be better in terms of \u201c<strong>ease of driving<\/strong>.\u201d It was very nimble, didn\u2019t feel big, and was easy to handle smoothly. I think it also has a strong sporty feel, and its actual performance has evolved and is excellent.<\/p>\n<p>In that sense, it\u2019s a fun car.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-30113\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/17941294-A2B5-47F2-A13F-865A218AF262-1280x853-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche Macan\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But on the other hand, I felt it had a \u201c<strong>weaker Porsche character<\/strong>,\u201d so personally, I prefer the early Macan more.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Is_the_Best_Porsche_for_Me\"><\/span>What Is the Best Porsche for Me?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The phrase \u201c<strong>The latest Porsche is the best<\/strong>\u201d is well-known.<\/p>\n<p>Certainly, <strong>in terms of performance, the latest Porsche is better<\/strong>. The design is refined and cool, and there\u2019s no doubt it\u2019s a wonderfully crafted car.<\/p>\n<p>But at the same time, if you ask, \u201c<strong>Is the latest Porsche really the best for you?<\/strong>\u201d I can\u2019t say that for sure.<\/p>\n<p>As performance improves, the analog feel fades, and the very perfection of the car can leave you feeling something is missing or make it harder to feel one with the car.<\/p>\n<p>So, when it comes to \u201c<strong>which era and which Porsche model suits me best<\/strong>,\u201d I guess you have to find out by actually experiencing them and trusting your own instincts.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m about to take concrete steps toward the goal of \u201c<strong>buying a Porsche with my own money<\/strong>,\u201d but I expect that I won\u2019t find \u201c<strong>the one!<\/strong>\u201d with my first Porsche.<\/p>\n<p>There are many things you can only understand by owning a car, and as your tastes and what you want from a car change, you gain experience and eventually find \u201c<strong>this is my Porsche<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2026Which means no matter how much money I have, it won\u2019t be enough, so I\u2019ll have to work even harder for decades to come lol<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s do our best!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Loaner Was an Early Model Macan S Recently, my husband sent his air-cooled Porsche 911 (964C2) and Boxster (981GTS) for inspection, so we borrowed a loaner\u2014and it turned out to be an early model Macan S.
