Mastering the Boxster GTS (MT)<\/h3>\n

The other day, my husband said to me, “Haven’t you written the third article in the ‘Until the Day I Can Master the Boxster GTS (MT)’ series at all?<\/a>” And he was right. When I checked the date of the last article I wrote, it was July 17\u2026 (-_-)<\/strong> Since I haven’t written any articles, that means I haven’t driven the Boxster since then.<\/p>\n

On the days I do drive the Boxster to practice, I feel “Alright! I’ll keep trying hard to drive it!”<\/strong> and I truly mean it, but when I say that, my husband responds,<\/p>\n

Why is that? If you could drive the Boxster manual, it would be so much fun. Even Kazuo Shimizu recently said, “Porsche is definitely manual. If you can drive a manual, you can drive all the classic Porsches, which is the best!”<\/p>\n

I get it, I really do in my head (-_-).<\/p>\n

The truth is, I have a trauma from the time I couldn\u2019t do a hill start in the Boxster and had to stop in the middle of the road with the hazard lights on. Because of that, I can\u2019t even imagine myself driving that Boxster. It feels as impossible as being told, “Climb Mount Everest right now!”\u2014an endlessly reckless challenge<\/strong>(Maybe that\u2019s a bit of an exaggeration, lol)<\/span>. So my motivation to learn to drive the Boxster just isn\u2019t there.<\/p>\n

Then my husband said this:<\/p>\n

“And besides the Boxster, you have the legendary Mercedes-Benz SL (R129) too, so you have cars you can drive anytime\u2014what a waste! (T_T)”<\/p>\n

I tried to argue back, “Well, you know, with two small kids, housework, childcare, blogging, and my own work, I\u2019m struggling every day. On top of that, going out to drive on my days off is just impossible! (`\u0414\u00b4)”<\/strong> But I imagine to car lovers, my current situation of having legendary cars at home and not driving them at all must seem unbelievable.<\/p>\n

A Porsche Evangelist?<\/h3>\n

I\u2019ve mentioned this briefly before in my blog<\/a>, but I do like driving. I even drive three hours one way to Yonago for work, and I love driving in daily life. But unlike my husband, I\u2019m not the type to say “Let\u2019s get up early on our day off and go driving!” or “Let\u2019s go on a long tour during holidays.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

So even if my kids grow up and I have more free time, I don\u2019t think I\u2019d necessarily spend it on touring. That makes me feel a little sad, thinking that by society\u2019s standards, I might not really be called a car lover\u2014or maybe I shouldn\u2019t call myself one.<\/p>\n

However,<\/span><\/p>\n

When it comes to my “blogging passion,” I think it\u2019s pretty amazing. I have so much I want to write about Porsche every day, and the \u201cPorsche Owners File\u201d project<\/a> sharing real voices from Porsche owners is about to launch soon<\/strong>. Thinking about these things makes me excited beyond words. So it\u2019s not that I\u2019m uninterested in cars\u2014I\u2019m very interested.<\/p>\n

So then, how should I explain my love for cars?<\/span><\/p>\n

After some thought, I realized I\u2019m less of a “car lover” and more someone who has an intense fascination with Porsche products<\/strong>(what kind of type is that?)<\/span>. I\u2019ve written before about the new Cayenne factory<\/a> and the evolution and history of the 911<\/a>. The more I learn, the more I\u2019m amazed by “What an incredible car Porsche is!” and “What a wonderful company Porsche is!”<\/strong> I become, and my curiosity grows.<\/p>\n

Also, knowing about the Cayenne factory and the 911\u2019s history makes me appreciate the Panamera even more deeply, and every time I drive it, I\u2019m moved. Sharing these surprises and discoveries through my blog, interacting with readers through comments and messages, makes it even more fun and exciting.<\/p>\n

\u2026So what do you call that? Maybe a Porsche evangelist? (laughs) Well, it\u2019s definitely a bit of a niche passion.<\/p>\n

As I write this, I realize that for me, the more I learn deeply about a car, the more interested I become in it. So maybe if I learn about the Boxster\u2019s manufacturing process and history from scratch, I might start wanting to drive it\u2026 (though I don\u2019t have to force myself to drive it)<\/span>.<\/p>\n
