The long weekend last week was apparently very busy at the dealer with many cars coming in for inspections. They told me, “The weekend is fully booked, but if you bring it Monday morning, it\u2019ll be ready by evening!”<\/strong> So I managed to book just in time. On the day, I headed to the dealer with both the Panamera and the Golf, and seeing the rear view of our Panamera is quite rare, so it felt fresh.<\/p>\n We arrived around 10:30 AM. Inside the showroom, there were a Panamera Turbo SE Hybrid, 718 Cayman, 718 Boxster, and the new Cayenne on display.<\/p>\n As usual, the girls enjoyed the kids\u2019 area. There were even more toys than last time!<\/p>\n After dropping off the Panamera for inspection, I got to test drive the new Cayenne for about an hour. I\u2019ll write a separate review about the new Cayenne soon. By the way, my husband, who has long said “I absolutely don\u2019t need an SUV,”<\/strong> was so impressed that after just 2 minutes of driving he said, “What\u2019s this?! It\u2019s amazing! I want one!”<\/strong> (lol). It got a very high rating from him.<\/p>\n Regarding the cost of this year\u2019s Panamera inspection, our contact, Mr. H, made a suggestion. Our Panamera had clocked 13,246 km in less than a year, which is quite a bit, so he recommended “The Porsche Scheduled Maintenance Plan (PSMP) for owners like you.”<\/strong><\/p>\n The Porsche Scheduled Maintenance Plan (PSMP) is a service available to owners who purchase a new car from an authorized Porsche dealer and sign up within one year of purchase. It offers an all-in-one fixed-price package covering statutory inspections, manufacturer inspections, and major parts replacement\/refills over 3 or 5 years<\/strong>. The cost can also be included in the vehicle loan.<\/p>\n However, if you drive less annually, you might not need many parts replaced, so paying for inspections as needed could be more cost-effective. The inspections covered by PSMP are as follows:<\/p>\n \u25a0 Year 1 \/ 15,000 km: 12-month inspection You can choose between a 3-year or 5-year plan; we opted for the 3-year plan. For the Panamera Turbo, the 3-year plan costs 319,680 yen (tax included, as of August 2018)<\/span><\/strong>. Considering that the previous Panamera Edition\u2019s 1-year inspection cost over 100,000 yen, this seems like a good deal.<\/p>\n We dropped off the Panamera at 10:30 AM and picked it up at 5 PM. We received the inspection details:<\/p>\n \u2026Wait, it was punctured?! ((\uff1b\uff9f\u0414\uff9f))<\/span><\/p>\n I had no idea\u2026 My husband had mentioned “The right rear tire pressure is dropping,”<\/strong> but I never imagined it was a puncture. It turned out a fairly long nail was stuck in it, but luckily it was repairable. Maybe it was picked up by the front tire and pierced the rear.<\/p>\n After the 1-year inspection, the Panamera came back sparkling clean, so I almost felt bad driving it (lol). Seeing the Panamera in perfect condition, my husband said “We should go on a long road trip with the Panamera sometime,”<\/strong> so maybe he\u2019s planning a solo trip soon.
