I\u2019d like to share my impressions.<\/p>\n<div id=\"ez-toc-container\" class=\"ez-toc-v2_0_74 counter-hierarchy ez-toc-counter ez-toc-grey ez-toc-container-direction\">\n<div class=\"ez-toc-title-container\">\n<p class=\"ez-toc-title\" style=\"cursor:inherit\">\u30b3\u30f3\u30c6\u30f3\u30c4<\/p>\n<span class=\"ez-toc-title-toggle\"><\/span><\/div>\n<nav><ul class='ez-toc-list ez-toc-list-level-1 ' ><li class='ez-toc-page-1 ez-toc-heading-level-3'><a class=\"ez-toc-link ez-toc-heading-1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/en\/entry\/swift_sports_202208\/#Differences_from_the_Usual_Swift_Sport_Experience\" >Differences from the Usual Swift Sport Experience<\/a><\/li><li class='ez-toc-page-1 ez-toc-heading-level-3'><a class=\"ez-toc-link ez-toc-heading-2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/en\/entry\/swift_sports_202208\/#If_Youre_Driving_on_the_Highway_I_Prefer_German_Cars\" >If You\u2019re Driving on the Highway, I Prefer German Cars<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/nav><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Differences_from_the_Usual_Swift_Sport_Experience\"><\/span>Differences from the Usual Swift Sport Experience<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>What I love about driving the Swift Sport on a regular basis is its <strong>lightness, smooth acceleration, and sheer driving enjoyment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at the numbers, it\u2019s a 1400cc with 140 horsepower, but <strong>it feels more powerful than the specs suggest<\/strong>, and even just driving around town with frequent stops at traffic lights is fun. <strong>It accelerates well from any speed range, and on the highway, even pressing the accelerator in 6th gear results in a smooth, lively response<\/strong>, which I always find impressive.<\/p>\n<p>However, when driving fully loaded with five people and heavy luggage, <strong>the lightness fades, acceleration feels sluggish, and the sharpness of the car\u2019s movements diminishes<\/strong>, cutting the fun of driving roughly in half. (Well, of course it\u2019s tough with that much weight in the car, haha.)<\/p>\n<p>At takeoff, the weight isn\u2019t too noticeable, but once you reach a certain speed, acceleration becomes sluggish, and merging onto the highway clearly feels like the rear is heavier.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-29376\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/IMG_4052.jpg\" alt=\"Suzuki Swift Sport\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Regarding ride comfort, the car picks up road undulations and bumps more directly, making the ride feel bumpier and rougher.<\/p>\n<p>Normally, highway joints cause a moderate \u201cthud,\u201d but with the extra load, these impacts felt stronger, and <strong>there was even a sense that the car\u2019s grip on the road was weaker\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Usually, I can maintain a good pace on the highway, but that day I felt a bit tense, thinking <strong>\u201cIt might be tough to keep driving continuously in the passing lane\u2026\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This experience reminded me once again that <strong>the Swift Sport\u2019s fun comes from its light weight (under 1 ton) and nimble handling<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"If_Youre_Driving_on_the_Highway_I_Prefer_German_Cars\"><\/span>If You\u2019re Driving on the Highway, I Prefer German Cars<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In terms of <strong>everyday usability, compactness, reliability, fuel efficiency, and safety features<\/strong>, Japanese cars are incredibly well-made and often offer great value.<\/p>\n<p>On top of that, the Swift Sport has <strong>excellent handling, good road grip, and is a joy to drive, making it perfect for me right now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Still, when driving on the highway, <strong>I find myself missing the solid feel and dependable suspension of German cars<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Especially recently, with heavy luggage onboard, I sometimes felt the highway grip weaken and the car become a bit unsettled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">\u201c<strong>If it were a Volkswagen Golf, I\u2019d feel more confident driving on the highway even fully loaded with suitcases and luggage<\/strong>\u201d (Of course, price, wheelbase, tires, and other factors differ, but still.)<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not that I\u2019m particularly a fan of <strong>German car brands<\/strong>, but cars designed for high-speed, long-distance driving on the Autobahn just feel reassuring and well-built.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, the Swift Sport is fun and more than enough, but as my kids grow and I get some time to take longer trips alone, I find myself hoping to own a German car someday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Usually, I drive the Swift Sport (MT) with my three kids (8, 5, and 2 years old) for shopping or picking them up.
