“How do you find topics for your daily blog posts?”
\n“Isn\u2019t it tough to update the blog every single day?”<\/p>\n
Sure, updating a blog daily isn\u2019t easy. But while I do sometimes rack my brain wondering, “What should the next post be about?” I never find daily blogging to be a “pain” or “hard work.”<\/strong> Why is that? I decided to take a moment to organize my thoughts about my current situation.<\/p>\n I think the work involved in writing articles can be broadly divided into two parts:<\/p>\n \u2460 Finding article topics (Marketing) Usually, bloggers handle both tasks themselves, so unless they\u2019re highly skilled or very experienced, it might be difficult to keep up daily updates.<\/p>\n In my case, however, my husband helps a lot with this blog, and we split the tasks of \u2460 and \u2461, which I believe makes daily updates possible.<\/strong>(We never formally decided this, but it just happened naturally.)<\/span><\/p>\n At our house, my husband takes charge of \u2460 finding article topics (Marketing). He watches Porsche YouTube channels almost daily, researches Porsche news and articles, and knows a lot about other car manufacturers\u2019 latest info and car mechanics. Based on that, he tells me things like:<\/p>\n \u30fb”Since a new model \u25cf\u25cf is about to be announced, it\u2019s good to write related articles now.” Plus, he checks this blog\u2019s Google Analytics and Search Console every day, so he also points out:<\/p>\n \u30fb”Keyword volume for the new Cayenne is rising, so we should post a test drive review soon.” In short, my husband plays a “marketing” role for this blog.<\/strong><\/p>\n On the other hand, I\u2019m the opposite type\u2014acting on intuition and feeling\u2014so I\u2019m terrible at analysis and marketing.<\/strong> I sometimes look at the keyword list in Google Console, but no matter how much I stare, my brain just freezes and I can\u2019t make sense of it. Even when I see Porsche news, I can\u2019t tell which news is important to car enthusiasts.<\/p>\n I do come up with ideas like “I want to write this kind of article,” but they tend to be super subjective and diary-like, such as “The Panamera is a great car!” or “Porsche is amazing!”<\/strong> So objective analysis and marketing just aren\u2019t my strong suits.<\/p>\n My role is \u2461 writing the articles (Writing). I love writing, and it\u2019s my strong point.<\/strong> Actually, my main job is “writing (+ speaking),” so that makes sense. So when my husband brings me daily topics, I think about:<\/p>\n \u30fbWhat structure and order will make the article easiest for readers to understand? I find organizing and crafting the articles really enjoyable. That\u2019s why I don\u2019t get bored, find it fun, and can keep going every day.<\/p>\n If I had to find topics myself, this blog might not have lasted this long. It\u2019s just that my husband\u2019s strengths and mine happen to complement each other perfectly,<\/strong> so we never run out of topics and can keep updating the blog.<\/p>\n But there\u2019s one tricky part to this method: there\u2019s such a huge gap between my husband\u2019s knowledge and mine that it takes me forever to understand what he\u2019s saying.<\/strong> (lol)<\/p>\n My husband is a super car geek who truly lives by “No Car, No Life.” I\u2019m just a regular person who loves Porsche but knows almost nothing about cars. \nMe: “Understeer and oversteer? What\u2019s that (-_-)?<\/strong><\/em>
\nHusband: “\u2026Understeer means \u25cf\u25cf and \u25cf\u25cf, so no matter how much you turn the wheel, it won\u2019t turn, so…”
\nMe: “I still don\u2019t get why it won\u2019t turn, it kind of feels like it should (-_-)”<\/strong><\/em>
\nHusband: “After all this explanation, why don\u2019t you get it?”
