He often tells me, \u201c<strong>You should drive the Porsches more<\/strong>,\u201d but I always find myself reaching for the Swift instead.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Swift_Sport_Is_Overwhelmingly_Practical_for_Everyday_Use\"><\/span>Swift Sport Is Overwhelmingly Practical for Everyday Use<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The reason I want to drive the Swift is its <strong>perfect balance of everyday practicality and driving enjoyment<\/strong>. (Well, that\u2019s only natural, right? lol)<\/p>\n<p>Today, I want to dive a little deeper into this topic.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Compact_Size\"><\/span>Compact Size<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The Swift Sport is very compact, with a width of just 1,735 mm. It looks bigger compared to an air-cooled Porsche 911 (964), but<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_29199\" style=\"width: 1210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29199\" class=\"wp-image-29199 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/IMG_8433.jpg\" alt=\"Swift Sport and air-cooled Porsche 911 (964)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-29199\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">It\u2019s quite rare to see these two lined up together<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Compared to typical cars, it\u2019s small enough to handle narrow roads and tight parking spots with ease\u2014wherever I want to go.<\/p>\n<p>For someone like me who mostly drives around town, this <strong>compact size<\/strong> is a huge plus.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Manageable_Power\"><\/span>Manageable Power<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>This Swift Sport is equipped with a <strong>1.4L direct-injection turbo engine producing 140 horsepower.<\/strong> At first glance, that might seem a bit underwhelming, but when you actually drive it, you don\u2019t feel any lack of power at all.<\/p>\n<p>The Swift weighs less than a ton (mine is a manual at 970 kg), making it very light. The acceleration from a standstill is torque-rich, nimble, and smooth\u2014really satisfying.<\/p>\n<p>Even in stop-and-go traffic, there\u2019s no stress.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, if you ask, \u201c<strong>Would you want to drive about 500 km from home to Fuji Speedway?<\/strong>\u201d I\u2019d say that might be a bit tough\u2014not because of performance, but due to wind noise, speed sensation, and road noise, which could get tiring. But for two to three hours on the highway, it\u2019s absolutely fine.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_New_Car_Customized_to_My_Taste_So_I_Feel_Attached\"><\/span>A New Car Customized to My Taste, So I Feel Attached<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>I bought this Swift Sport brand new.<\/p>\n<p>Originally, I wasn\u2019t planning to buy new and was considering used, but I concluded that \u201c<strong>once you factor in changing tires and other tweaks, it\u2019s not much different from buying new<\/strong>,\u201d so I went for a new one.<\/p>\n<p>The exterior is a two-tone with a black roof and red body.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-29201\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/IMG_0020.jpg\" alt=\"Suzuki Swift Sport\" width=\"1200\" height=\"674\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I consulted with my husband and added decals on the hood and sides, removed the emblems, and customized it to my liking, so I\u2019m very satisfied.<\/p>\n<p>Even when I finish shopping at the supermarket and return to the parking lot, the moment I spot my Swift, I feel an indescribable joy thinking, \u201c<strong>My cute little partner is waiting for me!<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This was my first time buying a new car, and if possible, I\u2019d love to customize and buy new again next time.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Quite_Comfortable_Ride\"><\/span>Quite Comfortable Ride<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>I think the ride comfort is pretty good. Of course, comfort is subjective, but I don\u2019t think many people would say it\u2019s \u201c<strong>uncomfortable<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite its compact and lightweight body, it feels planted and stable without any floaty or bouncy feeling, which I like.<\/p>\n<p>With Porsches, sometimes \u201c<strong>the ride is smooth at higher speeds on winding roads and highways but less comfortable at low speeds<\/strong>,\u201d but with the Swift, I don\u2019t feel any discomfort at everyday low speeds, making it very easy to use daily.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-29202\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/IMG_0011.jpg\" alt=\"Suzuki Swift Sport\" width=\"1200\" height=\"674\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Manual_Transmission_Is_Fun\"><\/span>Manual Transmission Is Fun<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Manual cars are just fun. The Swift Sport\u2019s clutch is shallow and light, and the shift lever is easy to operate, so I don\u2019t have to worry much when starting off. <strong>Blipping on downshifts is also easy,<\/strong> so even slowing down and stopping at red lights is enjoyable (lol).<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t have hill-start assist, but once you get the hang of it, it\u2019s no problem at all.<\/p>\n<p>Controlling a car with this moderate power feels great in my hands, which is why I often choose the Swift over the Porsches lol.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-29203\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/IMG_3998.jpg\" alt=\"Swift Sport MT\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_I_Really_Want_from_a_Car\"><\/span>What I Really Want from a Car<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Since buying the Swift Sport, I\u2019ve realized something important.<\/p>\n<p>That is, \u201c<strong>What I want from a car is ease of everyday use and driving enjoyment<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t go on tours at all, and I rarely drive on highways. So I don\u2019t need insane horsepower or mind-blowing handling.<\/p>\n<p>Also, big cars are hard to use, so I prefer something a bit smaller that I can take anywhere without worry. Since I often travel with my three kids, it has to seat at least four.<\/p>\n<p>At first, I admired the Porsche 911, thinking, <strong>\u201cThe GTS looks cool! I want to try the Turbo!
