There was also a time I couldn\u2019t get moving at a green light, and the light turned red while I was still stopped (luckily, no cars were behind me).<\/p>\n<p>I accidentally shifted from 3rd to 2nd instead of 4th, and once I meant to shift into 1st but went into reverse instead\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Looking back, I\u2019m amazed I never caused an accident or hit anything. (Here\u2019s an article from back then \u2193 lol)  <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"J9pktG5hO4\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/about-practice-driving-boxster\/\">\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7 \u30dc\u30af\u30b9\u30bf\u30fcGTS(MT)\u3092\u4e57\u308a\u3053\u306a\u305b\u308b\u3088\u3046\u306b\u306a\u308b\u305d\u306e\u65e5\u307e\u3067-Vol.2<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7 \u30dc\u30af\u30b9\u30bf\u30fcGTS(MT)\u3092\u4e57\u308a\u3053\u306a\u305b\u308b\u3088\u3046\u306b\u306a\u308b\u305d\u306e\u65e5\u307e\u3067-Vol.2&#8221; &#8212; \u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u304c\u308f\u304c\u5bb6\u306b\u3084\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f - \u30aa\u30fc\u30ca\u30fc\u30ba\u30d6\u30ed\u30b0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/about-practice-driving-boxster\/embed\/#?secret=J9pktG5hO4\" data-secret=\"J9pktG5hO4\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>But then I made up my mind: I was going to learn to drive a manual. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/bmw-became-better\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I bought a manual BMW for myself and started driving it every day<\/a>. After that, I was able to drive the Boxster too, and I truly realized, &#8220;<strong>Driving a manual is all about getting used to it.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28716\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/IMG_5192-800x600-700x480-1.jpg\" alt=\"BMW320i\" width=\"700\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That said, even when driving the Boxster, I couldn\u2019t blip the throttle on downshifts, so on the Royu Driveway I always turned on Sport Plus mode and relied on auto-blip (the 981 automatically enables auto-blip in Sport Plus mode). I was basically at a &#8220;<strong>just able to drive<\/strong>&#8221; level.<\/p>\n<p>Still, since I had achieved my initial goal of &#8220;<strong>being able to drive a manual<\/strong>,&#8221; I sold the BMW and spent a while driving automatic cars.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Enjoying_High-Performance_Porsches_Even_More\"><\/span>Enjoying High-Performance Porsches Even More<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Then last spring, my passion for manuals reignited, and in October, a Swift Sport manual joined our family. Since I was buying it with my own money, considering budget, driving fun, and usability, the Swift Sport was the clear choice.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28717\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/442F612D-FF1A-41D4-8257-90A17CC9E729-640x480-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Suzuki Swift Sport\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s nimble, lively, and even driving on signal-heavy national roads is plenty enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p>Gradually, I thought, &#8220;<strong>Since I\u2019m at it, I want to learn how to blip the throttle myself.<\/strong>&#8221; After about a month of daily practice, I was able to blip smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>Without consciously trying, I also started experimenting with gently tapping the accelerator when starting off, searching for my own smooth and fun driving style.<\/p>\n<p>Then recently, I had the chance to drive the Boxster again after a long time\u2026<\/p>\n<p>To my surprise, it felt easier to drive and even more fun than before.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-5611\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/IMG_8509-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"981 Boxster GTS\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I could blip the throttle normally now (though it seems recent Porsches don\u2019t recommend manual blipping, so it\u2019s probably best not to), and the accelerator pedal, which used to feel stiff, now felt perfectly responsive to my touch.<\/p>\n<p>I drove, feeling moved, thinking, &#8220;<strong>So this is how fun the Boxster really is!<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"ja\">\u4e45\u3057\u3076\u308a\u306b\u82a6\u6709\u3092\u30dc\u30af\u30b9\u30bf\u30fc\u3067\u8d70\u308c\u3066\u6c17\u6301\u3061\u3088\u304b\u3063\u305f\uff01\u30a8\u30f3\u30b8\u30f3\u97f3\u3092\u30dc\u30a4\u30b9\u30e1\u30e2\u3067\u9332\u97f3\u3057\u3066\u307f\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u3042\u3093\u307e\u308a\u826f\u3044\u97f3\u8cea\u3058\u3083\u306a\u3044\u3051\u3069\u3002\u3002 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kiFpVAiYS3\">pic.twitter.com\/kiFpVAiYS3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mina-\u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u304c\u308f\u304c\u5bb6\u306b\u3084\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f (@Mina_Panamera) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Mina_Panamera\/status\/1527910116787638273?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 21, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Boxster was always fun, but now that I could drive more relaxed and more naturally, I began to understand what my husband often says about &#8220;<strong>becoming one with the car<\/strong>&#8221; and &#8220;<strong>driving as a team with the car<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I used to think driving a manual was just about getting used to it, but now I realize it might have been more about having the mindset of &#8220;<strong>I want to get better<\/strong>&#8221; every day, not just driving daily. (Though I\u2019m still not great.)<\/p>\n<p>My husband often says, &#8220;<strong>I want to get better at driving<\/strong>&#8221; and goes to Porsche driving schools, which I used to laugh at, thinking, &#8220;<strong>Why? Planning to become a racer or something?<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But now I truly feel that &#8220;<strong>the better you get at driving a high-performance car like a Porsche, the more fun you can get out of it.<\/strong>&#8221; I\u2019m starting to understand his feelings a little better.<\/p>\n<p>If you have the chance to drive a Porsche, it\u2019s more enjoyable to really have fun with it.
