I thought they were cool and dreamed of owning one someday. But after driving many cars, including test drives, and especially since owning a GT3, I\u2019ve come to think that <strong>a car isn\u2019t just about speed.<\/strong> What matters more to me is <strong>balance.<\/strong><br \/>\nA car that feels natural to drive, with just the right amount of power, and a well-balanced engine and suspension\u2026 a car that\u2019s harmoniously put together and enjoyable to drive. Those are the cars I never get tired of and can have fun with for a long time.<br \/>\nFor example, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/category\/suzuki-swiftsports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Swift Sport<\/a> has about 140 horsepower, but it\u2019s light and surprisingly powerful and fun. Of course, it\u2019s slower than a Porsche, but it\u2019s really enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28461\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/4AB4938B-A91E-4657-BCC1-8FA17687910F-1280x960-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 Cabriolet\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At the same time, he often says this:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">But you can\u2019t just say \u201c<strong>it\u2019s fun because it\u2019s well balanced<\/strong>\u201d and leave it at that.<br \/>\nTake the 992 (911 Carrera Cabriolet), for example. It\u2019s an incredibly well-balanced, well-engineered car. Its performance, handling, acceleration, and firm yet smooth ride quality are all superb and perfectly balanced.<br \/>\n<strong>Driving this 992 on the highway for my commute is truly amazing.<\/strong> It feels so good that sometimes I want to take a longer route to work instead of going straight there.<br \/>\nSo, at first, I\u2019m amazed and thrilled by its incredible performance, but on long tours, depending on the road, it can start to feel a bit dull.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s a bit too much of a model student\u2026 it doesn\u2019t really stir your emotions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\"><strong>In that sense, the Boxster (981 Boxster GTS) or the 911 Carrera 4 GTS (991 early model) offer a more emotional driving experience.<\/strong><br \/>\nSo, it\u2019s tricky because you can\u2019t simply say that good balance equals fun.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/IMG_6261-700x480-1.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 GT3\" width=\"700\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Everyone has their own criteria for what makes a car fun.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">For my husband, who loves touring and driving,<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 14px;\">the key point is whether a car remains enjoyable even after driving for long hours on various roads.<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"> That\u2019s what really matters to him.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Porsche_Obsession_Runs_Deep\"><\/span>The Porsche Obsession Runs Deep<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>That same husband recently drove a friend\u2019s GT3 (991 late model) and said this:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\"><strong>The GT3 really is something else.<\/strong> The handling is completely different. It reminded me again that this car is on another level.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s insanely fast, and it feels like it can keep going and going \u2014 the car almost challenges you, making it an exciting and fun experience.<br \/>\nMy own GT3 (991 GT3 Touring late model) has a manual transmission, but the one I drove this time had a PDK, and <strong>I have to say, I prefer the PDK for the 991 late GT3.<\/strong><br \/>\nIt\u2019s incredibly difficult to fully unleash that amazing engine with a manual unless you\u2019re a professional racer, so I think the PDK suits me better.<br \/>\nAh, <strong>the GT3 was fantastic. I wish I could rent one every few months or so\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So basically\u2026 <strong>powerful, fast cars are fun<\/strong>, <strong>well-balanced cars are fun<\/strong>, <strong>high-performance cars are fun<\/strong>, <strong>manual cars are fun<\/strong>, <strong>convertibles are fun<\/strong>, <strong>air-cooled Porsches are fun<\/strong>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>In other words, they\u2019re all fun (laughs).<\/p>\n<p>Each Porsche model has its own unique charm.<\/p>\n<p>The car you own is wonderful, but when you get to drive a friend\u2019s car, that\u2019s wonderful too.
