Is This a Porsche Insider\u2019s Blog?<\/h3>\n

The other day, I received a comment on the blog asking, “Is this blog really a personal blog with no connection to Porsche?”<\/strong> Indeed\u2026 many readers might think that, and lately, even I have found myself wondering, “Who exactly am I\u2026?” (laughs) So today, I want to answer some of the questions readers have asked me so far.<\/p>\n

\u2460 Is this really a personal blog?<\/h3>\n

Since I have previously written articles like visiting Porsche Japan<\/a> and interviewing a racer competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup<\/a>, some might wonder, “Is this blog commissioned by Porsche Japan?” (It\u2019s understandable to think so, lol)<\/span> but I assure you, this blog is a genuine personal Porsche blog with no ties whatsoever to Porsche Japan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If this blog were commissioned by Porsche Japan, we would be test-driving their new models left and right for articles (in reality, we just visit our nearest dealer and test-drive the cars we want to consider)<\/span>, and we probably wouldn\u2019t be able to feature other manufacturers\u2019 cars (like BMW, VW Golf, Mercedes-Benz SL, etc.)<\/span>.<\/p>\n

You might think, “But isn\u2019t it unusual for a blogger to visit Porsche Japan and write about it?”<\/p>\n

That\u2019s true\u2014it\u2019s very rare for Porsche Japan to engage with individual bloggers.<\/strong> However, by some stroke of luck and connections, I was granted a special visit. I didn\u2019t even bring my DSLR camera that day, thinking it would be impossible to take photos inside the office, but thanks to their kindness, I was given special permission to take photos, which I later shared on the blog.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Porsche<\/p>\n

As for the interview with the Porsche Carrera Cup racer, it happened purely by chance through an acquaintance participating in amateur races who said, “Since you write a Porsche blog, I\u2019ll introduce you to a Carrera Cup racer friend.”<\/strong> So I interviewed him, but again, there is no connection to Porsche Japan.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I know the more I say “by luck” or “by chance,” the more it sounds suspicious\u2026 (-_-)<\/p>\n

But inside me, there\u2019s a strong desire: “If I\u2019m going to run a Porsche blog, I want it to be the best in Japan, and someday the best in the world.”<\/strong> So I took action with nothing to lose, and as a result, various connections came together. It\u2019s not like opportunities just came to me without any effort.<\/p>\n

\u2461 Is it really written by an amateur wife?<\/h3>\n

A comment once said, “Can a wife with little car knowledge really express the characteristics and features of the cars so well just by hearing from her enthusiast husband? Isn\u2019t the owner actually the one writing this?”<\/strong> Thank you for your honesty\u2026 lol<\/p>\n

First of all, this Porsche blog is written by “me,” the wife of a Porsche owner. However, when writing articles based on my husband\u2019s views, it usually starts with a lecture using RC cars (illustration below\u2193)<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It sometimes takes me about an hour to fully understand the content. After writing the draft, I have my husband review it, and he points out things like “This fact is incorrect,” “You\u2019re using the term PDK wrong,”<\/strong> and I make corrections before posting. (\u2026Doing all this for a personal blog is crazy, lol)<\/span><\/p>\n

I started as a complete novice with zero car knowledge, but thanks to my husband\u2019s daily lectures (?)<\/span>, I\u2019ve gotten much more knowledgeable. Still, I can\u2019t beat my car-obsessed husband, so I often think, “I\u2019m still just an amateur.” But recently, when talking with a car enthusiast, they said to me, “This is the first time I\u2019ve talked so extensively about cars with a woman!”<\/strong> (laughs)<\/p>\n

Maybe I\u2019ve actually gained more knowledge than I realize.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Also, once I received a comment saying, “The writing style is professional,” “The site goes beyond a personal blog and is serious.”<\/strong> Thank you so much for saying that\u2026 m(_ _)m<\/p>\n

Actually, I originally launched and still run an internet media site completely unrelated to cars, so I have those skills. From concept creation to site building and operation, I have experience that was very helpful when starting this blog. Also, my main profession involves writing, publishing, speaking, and interviewing, and I\u2019ve been in this field for about 10 years, so compared to most people, I think I have the ability to organize and communicate information well and strong writing skills.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, having written professionally for so long, I\u2019d be at a loss if someone said, “Your blog writing is totally amateurish,” so I\u2019m actually relieved when I get compliments like that (laughs).<\/p>\n

\u2462 Do professionals handle the blog tuning?<\/h3>\n

Those familiar with blogs and site management might wonder, “How is this blog\u2019s server and tuning handled? Is it done by professionals?”<\/strong> Actually, my husband\u2019s main job is in IT, so I leave all that to him.<\/p>\n

I can handle selecting blog content and images to some extent, but I have no knowledge about servers, so I\u2019m very grateful he takes care of that. Apparently, there are measures to keep the site fast even with lots of traffic, and at one point, the Google PageSpeed score (?)<\/span> was almost perfect.<\/p>\n

That said, this is just a personal Porsche blog hobby, so the monthly ad budget is truly tiny. My husband and I often joke, “If we wrote about Toyota Alphard or Prius, the search volume would be so much bigger, and we\u2019d probably earn more even with similar content, lol.”<\/strong> But that would stray from our concept, so we\u2019ll continue steadily posting articles about Porsche.<\/p>\n
