After thinking about it for a while\u2026 I still believe,<\/p>\n
Car geeks really aren\u2019t popular.<\/span> (Or rather, who am I to say!?)<\/span><\/p>\n I\u2019m fully aware that I\u2019m neither a love guru nor a stunningly beautiful and kind woman like Haruka Ayase, so I\u2019m not exactly qualified to talk about this topic\u2026 but I\u2019d like to share my perspective as a woman.<\/p>\n I think the reason people say “Car geeks aren\u2019t popular”<\/strong> is because “no matter what, the car always comes first.”<\/strong> This “car comes first” mindset is probably hard for most women to accept.<\/p>\n For example, take my husband (sorry for using him as an example in a ‘not popular’ context)<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n Back when he was driving an SLK350, we parked at his parents\u2019 place. When I tried to get out from the passenger seat, the seat position was lower than I expected, and I couldn\u2019t engage my abs properly, so I lost my balance while holding the door handle.<\/p>\n “If I keep holding on, the door will hit the wall beside us!”<\/strong> I quickly let go of the door, but then my hand had nowhere to go and slammed hard onto the concrete ground, causing pain in my palm. I couldn\u2019t help but say “Ouch!!!”<\/strong> and grimace, and my husband immediately said:<\/p>\n Are you okay?! What about the door!!!<\/span><\/p>\n \u2026 At that moment, I felt like I was seeing “a microcosm of our future married life.”<\/strong> (laughs)<\/p>\n Generally, I think women like “men who are considerate toward women, good at making women happy, and look cool”<\/strong> (and probably vice versa)<\/span>. So if a man often acts like “Is the car more important than me?!”<\/em> when you\u2019re together, women might think, “I don\u2019t think I can be with this person.”<\/em><\/p>\n That might be why people say “Car geek men aren\u2019t popular with women.”<\/strong><\/p>\n But I think car geek men, just like they\u2019re devoted to their cars, are also devoted to women (many of them, anyway)<\/span>.<\/p>\n Looking around me, many car geek men cherish their girlfriends or wives. (Though they might not be the most skillful at expressing those feelings.)<\/span><\/p>\n Also, their geeky nature often shines in their work, leading to promotions and success<\/strong>. Even if they\u2019re young now, some are motivated to work hard and get recognized because they want to buy and maintain their cars\u2026 Focusing on that side of things,<\/p>\n working hard, climbing the career ladder, and loving a woman devotedly<\/span><\/p>\n sounds like an incredibly wonderful man!!<\/p>\n You might say, “Yeah, but where are the women who actually see that and find it attractive?”<\/strong> But I feel that “being popular with women” and “meeting the right woman for you” are different things, so<\/p>\n meeting a woman who lets you be yourself, does what you want to do, and accepts you for who you are is more important than just being popular.<\/p>\n Maybe I think this way because I\u2019ve gotten a bit older, haha.<\/p>\n From a woman\u2019s perspective, I want to say that there are women who judge men \u201cbased on their inner qualities rather than looks, and by their own instincts and values rather than social norms.\u201d<\/strong> They might be few in number, but they definitely exist, and I know quite a few around me.<\/p>\n But one thing I can say is,<\/p>\n those women are definitely a little “different.”<\/span><\/p>\n They might look like ordinary women on the outside, but when you talk to them, they\u2019re not quite ordinary\u2014they\u2019re a bit wild or quirky\u2026 (in a good way)<\/span>. <\/p>\n They might say things like, “My feelings are different from most people\u2019s, and I don\u2019t mind if my boyfriend or husband loves cars. I have my own passions too, so let\u2019s both enjoy what we love.”<\/p>\n Writing it like this, you might think “Wow, such understanding women, no matter how different they are, that\u2019s awesome!”<\/strong> But here\u2019s a caution:<\/p>\n Don\u2019t expect these women to do what typical women might do (LOL).<\/strong><\/p>\n For example, if you ask them out, don\u2019t expect them to wake up early and make you a homemade lunch or sandwich, or to gently listen and comfort you when work is tough\u2026<\/p>\n You shouldn\u2019t expect those things (and I\u2019m one of those women, by the way)<\/span>.<\/p>\n But on the flip side, because they\u2019re not ordinary, they accept car geeks who are also not ordinary and let them be free.<\/p>\n Now, the important question: “Where are these women?”<\/strong>\u2026 I honestly don\u2019t know (hey!)<\/span> But I\u2019m pretty sure,<\/p>\n they don\u2019t show up at mixers, So it\u2019s even harder to meet them\u2026 (-_-)<\/p>\n But this is just a feeling, and since meeting someone is about fate and people who are meant to meet will meet, maybe you don\u2019t have to search hard outside\u2014such women might be closer than you think.<\/strong><\/p>\n The important thing is, when you feel “This is it!”<\/strong> about a woman in front of you, don\u2019t hesitate or hold back\u2014grab her firmly.
