My Car-Loving Husband<\/h3>\n

From my perspective as his wife, my husband seems to be thinking about cars all the time, whether awake or asleep.<\/strong> He drives to work in the car, drives back home, then plays car racing games on PlayStation or Xbox. After that, he lies on the sofa watching Porsche and car-related reviews on YouTube, followed by watching Car Graphic TV over and over. This is how his weekdays usually go. And on weekends, he always goes for a solo drive.<\/strong> He often says,<\/p>\n

I love cars, but what I really love is driving itself. If time allowed, I\u2019d just keep driving forever.<\/p>\n

He really loves cars, doesn\u2019t he?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And ever since the air-cooled 911 (964) came to our home last month, his passion for driving has only intensified \u2014 or rather, it has awakened even more\u2026<\/p>\n

The simplicity you don\u2019t find in modern Porsches, the feeling of truly driving the car, it\u2019s just so much fun!<\/p>\n

He\u2019s as excited as a boy (LOL).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

At first, watching him, I thought \u201cI knew it, but he really is a car geek.\u201d<\/strong> But recently I realized:<\/p>\n

That\u2019s right, for my husband, driving a car is a sport.<\/span><\/p>\n

My Husband Is Passionate About His Sport<\/h3>\n

He studies on YouTube every day to improve his driving skills, gathers quality gear that fits him well like driving gloves and driving shoes (he wears Negroni shoes)<\/span>, and says things like \u201cI managed to lap the N\u00fcrburgring in X minutes, I think I can shave off a bit more time!\u201d<\/strong> on PlayStation. He searches for smooth, enjoyable roads where he can really enjoy driving, and when he finds a good route, he comes home thrilled.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s just like fathers who want to improve their golf scores, buying good golf clubs, reading golf magazines, and practicing at the driving range every week.<\/strong> Not just golf, but also people who want to get better at tennis, soccer, or run marathons faster \u2014 it\u2019s no different.<\/p>\n

Thinking about it this way, driving a car can definitely be called a sport (after all, it\u2019s called motorsport).<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When I see him as a car geek, I think \u201cI don\u2019t get it, he\u2019s crazy.\u201d<\/strong> But changing my perspective to \u201cHe\u2019s someone working hard to improve his skills in a sport,\u201d<\/strong> I somehow feel like cheering him on\u2026 I start to understand him.<\/p>\n

So the other day I said to him, \u201cFor you, driving a car is already a sport. It\u2019s just like trying to improve your skills in a sport.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n

\u201cExactly! That\u2019s right! I\u2019m doing sports!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t seem displeased (laughs). The only difference between regular sports and driving is that you don\u2019t lose weight driving a car.<\/strong> Actually, you tend to gain weight. (If you really want to get better, you\u2019d have to do muscle training and strengthen your core, but that\u2019s the level of a professional circuit racer.)<\/span><\/p>\n
