Also, neither of us is very materialistic, so when I ask him, \u201cWhat do you want for your birthday?\u201d he usually says, \u201c<strong>I don\u2019t really want anything<\/strong>.\u201d So every year, I just give him a Porsche T-shirt.<\/p>\n<p>And when he asks me, \u201c<strong>What do you want for your birthday?<\/strong>\u201d I reply, \u201c<strong>Hmm, I don\u2019t really want anything, so I\u2019m good<\/strong>,\u201d which makes him say, \u201cWell, that\u2019s a bit much\u2026\u201d and then he books a nearby inn for us to stay at as a family.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26089\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_4135.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 GT3\" width=\"1200\" height=\"674\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s just how we are, but last week we celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. Has it really been nine years already? We\u2019ve <strong>forgotten and skipped celebrating our anniversary several times<\/strong> before, but this year my husband posted this tweet on Twitter:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">\u201cToday is our 9th wedding anniversary. When we first got married, we couldn\u2019t even dream of buying a Porsche, but I told my wife, \u2018I want to reach this level of income someday,\u2019 and she listened carefully\u2014I remember that clearly. And now, I\u2019ve far exceeded that goal. He actually thought that (\uff9f\u0434\uff9f)!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>My husband usually doesn\u2019t say things like that, so I was really surprised.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Why I Could Embrace My Husband\u2019s Ambitious Income Goals<\/h3>\n<p>Nine years ago, we never imagined we\u2019d be living a life with a Porsche. My husband had always said, \u201c<strong>I want to buy a Porsche someday<\/strong>,\u201d but I never thought it would actually happen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26090\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_4134.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 (992 model)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"674\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Recently, during a Twitter Spaces audio chat, my husband looked back and shared this story:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">When we first got married, my income was much lower than it is now. I could support my family, but buying a Porsche was totally out of the question. At that time, I told my wife, \u201c<strong>I want to reach this level of income someday<\/strong>.\u201d A normal wife might have responded, \u201c<strong>What are you dreaming about? Be realistic. Stop talking nonsense and get some sleep so you can work hard tomorrow.<\/strong>\u201d and not taken it seriously. But my wife said, \u201c<strong>Oh, really? Maybe you can do it.<\/strong>\u201d She didn\u2019t dismiss my income goal but accepted it, and that meant a lot to me. Because our values matched\u2014we didn\u2019t think \u201cThat\u2019s impossible,\u201d but believed \u201cWith the right effort, it\u2019s achievable\u201d\u2014I\u2019ve come this far.<\/p>\n<p>I never expected to hear such words from him, so I felt both happy and embarrassed, and my mood got a bit weird at that moment. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/asp-products\/2021-10-16%e3%81%ae%e9%85%8d%e4%bf%a1%e3%82%b3%e3%83%b3%e3%83%86%e3%83%b3%e3%83%84\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">By the way, here\u2019s the replay of that Twitter Space<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>I was really glad he felt that way, and just hearing those words made me feel like I could keep going for another 10 years\u2026 well, maybe that\u2019s an exaggeration lol.<\/p>\n<p>When my husband talked about his income goal, I didn\u2019t consciously think, <strong>\u201cI have to support him\u201d or \u201cI have to believe in his potential,\u201d<\/strong> but rather I just naturally accepted it.<\/p>\n<p>There are three main reasons why.<\/p>\n<p>First, my husband spoke as if he had already achieved that goal.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t a pipe dream like \u201cI hope I can get there someday,\u201d nor was it a tough-guy \u201cI\u2019ll work my guts out to make it happen!\u201d kind of talk. Instead, it felt like, \u201c<strong>He probably already has a clear path in mind.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-26094\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/F40862E9-C8F3-42F3-BD2B-3B9569D92288-1280x720.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Previously, in an article titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/sikoutetsugaku-process\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">What\u2019s Important When Buying a Porsche: Visualize the Process!<\/a>,\u201d I wrote that \u201c<strong>If you want to make meat sauce spaghetti, it\u2019s important to imagine the process of making it.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, my husband\u2019s way of talking back then showed that even though the goal was high and there were many challenges, he could see \u201c<strong>what\u2019s needed to get there and what actions to take.<\/strong>\u201d That\u2019s why I could accept it so naturally.<\/p>\n<p>Second, I believe that \u201c<strong>my husband aiming high has no downside for me at all.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From my perspective, if my husband works hard, grows, earns more, and we can live a richer life as a family, there\u2019s no reason to hold him back.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, that might mean he comes home late, works weekends, or can\u2019t spend as much time with the kids. But challenges come with risks, and we can always talk and solve problems as they arise.<\/p>\n<p>Actually, I get irritated when people settle for \u201c<strong>this is fine as it is<\/strong>\u201d or get too comfortable being pampered and stay put. So I\u2019m happier when my husband keeps pushing himself to reach higher.<\/p>\n<p>This applies not only to my husband but also to friends or anyone\u2014I prefer an environment where we challenge ourselves and motivate each other. But for those who aren\u2019t like that, I\u2019m probably a pretty annoying wife (lol), so I\u2019m grateful to my husband in many ways.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26092\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_1712.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 GTS\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Third, I\u2019ve witnessed firsthand how steadily my husband has been stepping up.<\/p>\n<p>When we met, he had just started his business and was renting space in a senior company\u2019s office. Then we got our own office, moved to a bigger place, hired more employees, and his income rose\u2014I\u2019ve seen all that up close.<\/p>\n<p>Because of that, I unconsciously felt, \u201c<strong>This is someone who makes things happen.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So even if the goal seemed huge to others, inside me there was a kind of baseless certainty that \u201cHe\u2019ll achieve it.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\">Our Future Goals<\/h3>\n<p>Now my husband often talks about new goals, like <strong>\u201cI want to be like this\u201d or \u201cI want to live this kind of life.\u201d<\/strong> People like that might be rare in the world, but I vaguely feel he can make it.<\/p>\n<p>Also, even if his goals change along the way, it\u2019s natural for people to evolve as they grow, so that\u2019s fine too.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, my future goal is \u201c<strong>Once the kids grow up and become more independent, my husband and I want to travel abroad, changing our place of residence every few months, living in various places.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I mainly want to live in Europe\u2014countryside towns surrounded by beautiful fields, seaside cities, nature-rich areas, sometimes the city\u2014driving a Porsche, working while gently rocking in a wooden deck chair, enjoying a relaxed and free lifestyle. (Though I don\u2019t speak any foreign languages at all.)<\/p>\n<p>To make that happen, my goal for the near future is to \u201c<strong>build a system that lets me earn solidly from anywhere in the world with just a laptop or smartphone, and create streams of income.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Of course, that will require effort, self-transformation, and overcoming many obstacles\u2026 but life is only once, so I want to choose the exciting path whenever I can.<\/p>\n<p>Next year will be our 10th anniversary. I wonder what stage we\u2019ll be at then.
