\u201cI wonder if they\u2019re a group of air-cooled Porsche fans\u2026<\/strong>\u201d he thought. He parked a little way off, went to buy a coffee from the vending machine, and was heading back to his car when one of the air-cooled Porsche owners called out to him.<\/p>\n \u2026Um\u2026you\u2019re the person who writes the blog, right!?<\/span><\/p>\n My husband said he was taken aback for a moment. The owner explained, \u201cWhen I saw this 964, I thought, \u2018That\u2019s the 964 from the blog!\u2019 I\u2019d read that you come to Royu Driveway quite often, so I\u2019d been hoping we\u2019d meet someday!<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWell, thank you very much for following the blog!\u201d my husband replied, before chatting with the group. Among them were people who lived near Royu Driveway, as well as the person who runs a 964 owners\u2019 club.<\/p>\n After talking with everyone for about an hour, my husband headed home. Before he left, they gave him one of their custom Royu Driveway stickers (inspired by the N\u00fcrburgring sticker design)<\/span>.<\/p>\n I\u2019m jealous! They even turned the \u201cU\u201d into a \u201c\u00dc\u201d\u2014so stylish! (laughs)<\/span><\/p>\n The next day, my husband went back to Royu (He really loves it up there! lol)<\/span>. Once again, he spotted a car parked there: a brilliantly red 964. He got talking with its owner, who turned out to be part of the same air-cooled Porsche group that had been there the day before<\/strong>. The owner also knew about this blog.<\/p>\n When my husband got home, he said, with a thoughtful smile:<\/p>\n Porsche has brought so many good people into my life lately. Everyone\u2019s so courteous and nice. I wouldn\u2019t have met any of them if I didn\u2019t drive a Porsche.<\/p>\n Then he added:<\/p>\n You should go to Royu on your own sometime, Mina. I\u2019ll look after the kids.<\/p>\n How many times has he said that to me? (Probably more than 30.)<\/span> But every time, I come back with something like:<\/p>\n No, because I didn\u2019t buy the Panamera Turbo myself. People will think, \u201cShe\u2019s acting all high and mighty, even though her husband bought it for her.<\/strong>\u201d So I\u2019m not going.<\/p>\n Or:<\/p>\n Even if I took the Boxster, I\u2019m not a very good driver. I\u2019d probably panic in the parking lot and stall it over and over. People would think, \u201cWhy is she driving a Porsche when she\u2019s that bad behind the wheel?<\/strong>\u201d So I\u2019m not going.<\/p>\n And every time, my husband says:<\/p>\n What\u2019s with that Yoshida-from-Black Mayonnaise kind of way of thinking? lol<\/p>\n So even though I live near Royu Driveway, I\u2019ve never once driven up there on my own.<\/strong> I wonder why\u2026 I can be pretty bold in other situations, so why do I turn into such a nervous wreck over this?<\/p>\n Still, I\u2019m sure I\u2019d make new connections if I gave it a try.
