Recently, he said, &#8220;<strong>If I were to buy the new 911 GT3 Touring Package (992 model), this is how I\u2019d spec it out<\/strong>,&#8221; and showed me his configuration.<\/p>\n<p>So, this is purely his personal preference and just for your reference, but here\u2019s what he came up with.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Exterior_of_the_911_GT3_Touring_Package\"><\/span>Exterior of the 911 GT3 Touring Package<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Body_Color_and_More\"><\/span>Body Color and More<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>For the body color, he\u2019d go with <strong>GT Silver or Agate Grey<\/strong>. The new Shark Blue is personally very tempting, but that\u2019s a color he\u2019d prefer on the winged GT3. Given the Touring Package\u2019s nature, flashy colors were avoided considering resale value. (It\u2019s not that bright colors are bad, but looking at the used car market, colors that fit the car\u2019s character and concept tend to be favored. <strong>For the Touring Package, flashy colors tend to sell slower in the used market.<\/strong> On the other hand, models like the RS are popular even in bright colors.)<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019d choose <strong>Black Exterior for the Touring Package<\/strong>, since he picked the lighter GT Silver. For darker colors like Gentian Blue, he feels the Black Exterior option doesn\u2019t look as good.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-25249\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/iris-1-1280x720.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 GT3 Touring (992)\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Wheels_and_More\"><\/span>Wheels and More<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>If opting for PCCB with yellow calipers, he\u2019d go with <strong>Satin Dark Silver painted wheels<\/strong>. For the standard brakes with red calipers, <strong>Satin Neodymium painted wheels<\/strong> are his preferred color balance.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Lights\"><\/span>Lights<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>He\u2019d choose <strong>LED Black Headlights<\/strong> to match the Touring Package Black exterior. Incidentally, <strong>LED Matrix headlights are very useful for those who often drive on dark rural highways or national roads<\/strong>, but are unnecessary for mostly urban driving. Plus, from the 992 model onwards, even the standard LED headlights are incredibly bright.<\/p>\n<p>For the 992, since the Matrix headlights don\u2019t drastically change the look, their impact on resale is minimal and not a strong selling point.<\/p>\n<p>He chose the Exclusive Design taillights to <strong>keep the rear in a monochrome tone matching the GT Silver body<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Roof_and_Glass\"><\/span>Roof and Glass<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Privacy glass was selected to maintain continuity with the black carbon roof.<\/p>\n<p>The lightweight carbon roof\u2019s effect on driving performance is unclear, but this time it was chosen for design reasons. <strong>With lighter colors like GT Silver, a black roof makes the whole car appear lower<\/strong>, which he likes. This was purely a color choice and could be wrapped later if desired.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-25251\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/iris-3-1280x720.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 GT3 Touring\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Performance_Options_and_More\"><\/span>Performance Options and More<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"PCCB\"><\/span>PCCB<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) are expensive and a tough call, but since it\u2019s a GT3 mainly used on public roads, he definitely wants them. No brake dust, outstanding stopping power, and excellent pedal feel. Even at very high speeds, the braking force goes beyond what normal brakes can deliver. Having experienced various PCCB-equipped Porsches since then, a common trait is that <strong>at very low speeds, the lightness can cause a slightly bouncy feel, but at high speeds it feels very flat, improving ride comfort and stability.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-25250\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/iris-2-1280x720.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 GT3 Touring (992)\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, <strong>durability is absolutely not an issue if mostly driven on public roads.<\/strong> From his experience, pads and rotors wear surprisingly little\u2014clearly outlasting cast iron brakes. Occasional track use a few times a year is fine. However, for frequent visits to demanding tracks like Fuji Speedway, standard brakes might be better. Ultimately, it depends on budget and whether you want the yellow caliper look. Also, PCCB on the GT3 positively affects resale value, so the cost isn\u2019t a total loss.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sport_Chrono_and_More\"><\/span>Sport Chrono and More<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The Sport Chrono Package is chosen because he wanted the stopwatch accent on the dashboard and the performance display on the PCM. It might not add much to resale value, but without it, many would wonder, &#8220;<strong>Why no Sport Chrono on a GT3?<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Front Axle Lift System<\/strong> is an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/gt3-frontlift-202104\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">absolute must-have option, as covered in a past article<\/a>. It\u2019s also a major factor for resale on the GT3.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Interior_of_the_911_GT3_Touring_Package\"><\/span>Interior of the 911 GT3 Touring Package<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Interior_Color\"><\/span>Interior Color<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The interior color could be plain black, but <strong>he wanted to add stitching for a bit of flair.<\/strong> So he chose leather interior with GT Silver stitching to match the exterior.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-25244\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/GT36-1280x720.jpeg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 GT3 Touring (992 model)\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Seats\"><\/span>Seats<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Since it\u2019s the Touring Package, he chose <strong>Sports Seats Plus<\/strong>. The previous generation Touring Package was ordered with 18-way seats and he was satisfied, but the GT3 lacks memory and electric steering wheel adjustment, so it feels a bit overpriced. This time he went with 4-way seats. (For the winged GT3, he\u2019d pick full bucket seats to match the car\u2019s concept.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seat heaters were added just in case, though not essential for a coupe.<\/strong> Ventilated seats would be ideal but aren\u2019t available on the GT3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Silver Grey seat belts were chosen to match the GT Silver exterior.<\/strong> Another option would be Racing Yellow to match the PCCB yellow calipers, which would look great. In that case, yellow could also be used for the gauges or stitching. (<strong>When adding accent colors, matching them to an exterior color creates a cohesive look.<\/strong> Suddenly having flashy gauges alone tends to hurt resale value.)<\/p>\n<p>The standard 992 panels already have a high-quality feel, but <strong>the Carbon Interior Package (high gloss) further elevates the quality.<\/strong> Such obvious interior options tend to add value for resale, so despite the cost, it\u2019s a worthwhile investment.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-25243\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/GT35-1280x720.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Storage Package is a free option<\/strong> that adds more compartments, so there\u2019s no reason not to choose it.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the spec my husband would pick if buying the new 911 GT3 Touring Package.
