Rewriting Past Articles<\/h3>\n

About a week ago, I finally got around to rewriting past articles (usually rewriting means someone else\u2019s article is rephrased without changing the content, but in this case, I\u2019m revising articles I wrote myself in the past)<\/span>.<\/p>\n

This blog has some popular articles with lots of traffic, but past articles are also frequently read every day.<\/strong> However, especially the articles from when I first started the blog were nowhere near presentable\u2026<\/p>\n

\"Porsche<\/p>\n

Originally, this blog was a place where I wrote my love for the Panamera like talking to myself, so I never really cared about readability for readers. Also, I thought \u201cI probably won\u2019t get many visitors,\u201d so I wrote it casually like a diary.<\/p>\n

Looking back at those early articles, there were typos, my car knowledge was limited so some expressions were wrong, and I overused emojis making it hard to read\u2026 (*_*)<\/p>\n

I thought, \u201cI really need to properly rewrite these at some point<\/strong>,\u201d but with over 400 articles, I just couldn\u2019t bring myself to start.<\/p>\n

Then recently I decided, \u201cI have to do it someday, so why not now!\u201d and finally managed to finish rewriting all the articles! What a relief!<\/p>\n

So, this blog has many articles from the past as well, so please feel free to check them out (laughs).<\/p>\n

Convenient Options<\/h3>\n

Today, I want to write about Panamera options. In a previous article, I wrote that \u201cthe must-have option for the Panamera is definitely the rear axle steering<\/a>,\u201d which is essential for \u201cdriving.\u201d This time, I want to introduce four options that aren\u2019t directly related to driving but are very convenient and I definitely want to have again next time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u2460 Soft-Close Doors<\/h4>\n

The first is soft-close doors. This feature fully closes the door from a half-open state<\/strong>. At first, I thought \u201cI absolutely don\u2019t need this option,\u201d but now I feel \u201cI can\u2019t live without it!\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Porsche<\/p>\n

We have a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old at home, and when we come back from a drive, one of them is usually fast asleep, so I often have to get out of the car while holding a child.<\/p>\n

In those situations, closing the door while holding a child or luggage is quite difficult, so the soft-close door, which takes over and closes the door once it\u2019s partially shut, is extremely useful.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve gotten so used to soft-close doors that when I get into my air-cooled 911 and close the door, I always leave it half-open. Then I think, \u201cOh right, I have to close it properly,\u201d and close it again.<\/p>\n

\u2461 Smokers Package<\/h4>\n

This option adds ashtrays and a cigarette lighter to the front and rear center consoles<\/strong> (but you can\u2019t choose USB charging ports)<\/span>. However, we don\u2019t smoke in the car; my husband always opts for this option regardless of the car model because he wants to use the cigarette lighter socket for a GPS radar<\/a> and iPhone charging cables.<\/p>\n

\u2462 Cup Holder Cover<\/h4>\n

I think having a cup holder cover is good because our kids tend to stuff trash and toys into the cup holders<\/strong> (laughs). So when not in use, I press the bottom to raise the cover so nothing can be put inside. That\u2019s basically the only reason I want it.<\/p>\n

Still, this is a free option and I don\u2019t think there\u2019s any downside to having it.<\/p>\n

\u2463 14-way Power Seats with Memory Function<\/h4>\n

The driver and passenger seats can be electrically adjusted for height, position, etc., and the seat position, steering column position, and door mirror angles can each be memorized.<\/p>\n

\"New<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t have to adjust the seat or steering wheel every time before starting the engine; once you start it, the seat and other settings automatically move to your preset positions, so you\u2019re always ready to go.<\/p>\n

Also, I received information from a reader that if you don\u2019t choose the 14-way power seats with memory function<\/strong> option (standard on the Panamera Turbo)<\/span>, you cannot operate the passenger seat from the driver\u2019s side<\/strong><\/a>. I plan to cover this in more detail later in the Porsche Owners File.<\/p>\n

Other Options<\/h3>\n

Another option I find very convenient is the Porsche Entry & Drive System<\/strong>. This allows you to lock\/unlock and start the engine without using the key<\/strong>. It\u2019s very handy when, for example, after shopping, your child falls asleep and you need to open the car while holding them. However, my husband once said he doesn\u2019t want such \u201cnon-sporty\u201d options.<\/p>\n

But I believe this is standard equipment on all Panamera models, even if you can\u2019t select it in the car configurator. (It\u2019s included but not selectable)<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Writing this made me realize that some options are \u201cnot really necessary if you don\u2019t have small children<\/strong>,\u201d so I guess the options you need depend on your family structure and age.<\/p>\n
