A Panamera Recall<\/h3>\n

The other day, a letter arrived from Porsche Japan about a recall affecting the 971 Panamera. I opened it to find an explanation: \u201cDue to incorrect programming in the electric power steering control unit, power steering assistance may be lost while driving. As a result, steering effort may increase.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I\u2019d never noticed anything like that, so I assumed our Panamera was fine. But H. from the Porsche Center got in touch right away and said, \u201cSorry to trouble you, but could we inspect the car?<\/strong>\u201d So I arranged to drop off the Panamera for a checkup.<\/p>\n

An Unexpected Cayman S<\/h3>\n

On the morning of the inspection, H. came by first thing to pick up the Panamera. At the door, he asked, \u201cWill you need a car today? If you like, I can leave the one I drove here.<\/strong>\u201d I had a few things to take care of and wasn\u2019t planning to use a car, so I replied, \u201cNo, I\u2019m fine. I blurted out, \u201cI\u2019ll take it! Absolutely, I\u2019ll take it! (\uff9f\u0434\uff9f)!!<\/strong>\u201d H. laughed and said, \u201cThen I\u2019ll leave you the key,\u201d so I happily accepted.<\/p>\n

The loaner was a Cayman S. Its main options, if I remember correctly, were the Sport Chrono Package and Sport Exhaust. And with that, I said goodbye to the Panamera for a little while\u2026<\/p>\n

I had an appointment I couldn\u2019t miss that morning, so I rushed to take care of it and saved the Cayman drive for the afternoon. I was so excited that I emailed my husband at work: \u201cThe loaner\u2019s a Cayman! This is unreal!<\/strong>\u201d He replied right away.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s awesome! Why not take it up Royu?<\/p>\n

But the idea of \u201cdriving a car I\u2019d never driven before, alone on Royu Driveway<\/strong>\u201d was pretty nerve-racking. Still, opportunities like this don\u2019t come along often, so I worked up the courage and decided to head to Royu by myself.<\/p>\n

Off to Royu Driveway!<\/h3>\n

I climbed into the Cayman and turned the ignition key.<\/p>\n
