It was a cherished car, carefully specified and purchased by my husband with great dedication. However, its performance was so high that we rarely had the chance to fully unleash it in everyday driving, so we reluctantly let it go.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, we\u2019ve received many questions like <strong>\u201cDo you regret selling the 911 GT3?\u201d and \u201cHave you thought about buying a GT3 again?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24701\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/IMG_3323.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 GT3 Touring\" width=\"1200\" height=\"674\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been almost four months now, and my husband recently said this:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">I\u2019m often asked if I regret selling the 911 GT3 Touring. Before, I would say, \u201cI didn\u2019t sell it on a whim; I thought it through for months before deciding, so I don\u2019t regret it.\u201d But lately, I\u2019ve started to think differently. <strong>The reason I don\u2019t regret it might be because we have the 992 (911 Cabriolet) at home.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When I asked him why he felt that way, he explained:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">The 992-generation 911 is truly high-performance. I think it\u2019s almost on par with the 991 GT3 in terms of capability. Its handling, rigidity, suspension, throttle response, and braking\u2014all aspects are incredible. Even on the corners of the Royu Driveway, it feels like, <strong>\u201cI can push through these speeds and still go further!\u201d<\/strong>\u2014very similar to the GT3. So even without the GT3, <strong>the 992 is more than enough to satisfy us<\/strong>. And that\u2019s despite it being the base-grade 992. Of course, the GT3\u2019s racing engine is extraordinary, and when it\u2019s really pushed, the base 992 can\u2019t compete with that level of excitement. But for normal mountain road driving, the 992\u2019s performance is truly amazing. It corners just as well as the GT3 at street speeds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">So maybe having the 992 means we don\u2019t feel lonely without the GT3.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24702\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/IMG_1314.jpg\" alt=\"Porsche 911 GT3 Touring\" width=\"1200\" height=\"674\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_High_Performance_of_the_Porsche_911_992\"><\/span>The High Performance of the Porsche 911 (992)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>On this blog, I\u2019ve written <a href=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/992-is-like-a-robot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">many times about the incredible performance of the 992<\/a>. Sometimes I wondered if I might be overestimating it because I own it and feel attached to it.<\/p>\n<p>But recently, my husband had a Porsche friend test drive it, and the friend said:<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">\u201cThe leap from the 991 to the 992 feels like skipping two generations. The level of evolution is astonishing! I almost fainted!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll write more about this later.<\/p>\n<p>Also, on Car Graphic TV, Masataka Matsutoya test drove the base-grade 992 and praised it highly.<\/p>\n<p>So it\u2019s reassuring to know it\u2019s not just us who feel this way (laughs).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19942\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/IMG_9110.jpg\" alt=\"Aventurine Green Porsche 911 Carrera (992)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Of course, the 991 911 was also an amazing car. When I first test drove the 991 Cabriolet a few years ago, I was impressed by how easy it was to drive. I was thrilled thinking, <strong>\u201cEven I can push hard through the corners on the Royu Driveway!\u201d<\/strong> and amazed at how high-performance the 911 really is.<\/p>\n<p>But I believe <strong>the 992 has surpassed the greatness of the 991 by several levels<\/strong>. Honestly, I feel like they\u2019ve already done so much that improving it further would be impossible.<\/p>\n<p>This is just my speculation, but considering emissions regulations and other factors, I think <strong>the 992 might be Porsche\u2019s last chance to build the 911 as a gasoline engine car exactly how they want it<\/strong>. It feels like they poured their heart and soul into making it the ultimate culmination of their efforts.<\/p>\n<p>So I completely understand why my husband says, <strong>\u201cI don\u2019t regret selling the 991 GT3 because I can enjoy amazing driving with the 992.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That said, thinking about the 992 GT3 makes me realize it must be something extraordinary\u2026 It\u2019s still a while before deliveries start, but if anyone buys one, I\u2019d love to get a ride in it someday (laughs).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Do We Regret Selling the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring?
