&#8212; \u30dd\u30eb\u30b7\u30a7\u304c\u308f\u304c\u5bb6\u306b\u3084\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305f - \u30aa\u30fc\u30ca\u30fc\u30ba\u30d6\u30ed\u30b0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/entry\/amg-s63-coupe-review\/embed\/#?secret=b5aQ53LPED\" data-secret=\"b5aQ53LPED\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>However, regarding this comparison, my husband said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"well3\">Since we have the experience of owning both the Panamera Turbo and AMG S63 Coupe, I wanted to share my impressions comparing the two\u2026 but honestly, <strong>these two cars have such different characters<\/strong> that if you want to compare properly, it should be with the <strong>AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, which is coming to Japan soon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With that said, I\u2019ll share the report my husband put together this time as well.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Comparison_by_Driving_Scene\"><\/span>Comparison by Driving Scene<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>As I\u2019ve mentioned many times on this blog, I want to reiterate upfront that <strong>the Panamera Turbo and S63 are cars with completely different personalities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"City_and_Regular_Road_Driving\"><\/span>City and Regular Road Driving<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>In city driving, with lots of stop-and-go and monotonous roads, many people will find the S63 more comfortable. The Panamera\u2019s cabin feels like \u2018<strong>Let\u2019s drive!<\/strong>\u2019, while the S63 has a \u2018<strong>relaxed, comforting<\/strong>\u2019 atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>You feel less fatigue while driving and can focus more on conversations with the passenger. So, <strong>if you\u2019re thinking of using the car mainly for commuting or simple transportation, the S63 is definitely preferable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-9295\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_0972-1-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Winding_Road_Driving\"><\/span>Winding Road Driving<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>From the perspective of \u2018fun\u2019 on winding roads, the Panamera clearly takes the crown.<\/strong> The S63 can\u2019t quite match the Panamera in terms of \u201cweight,\u201d \u201cbody roll,\u201d and especially \u201chandling precision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the Panamera surprisingly doesn\u2019t feel heavy or bulky on winding roads and sticks to corners as if glued to the ground. Its handling is spot-on.<\/p>\n<p>One major difference is the <strong>perceived center of gravity<\/strong>: the S63 feels higher, as if driving a taller car. The Panamera feels like it pivots around a point just behind the driver\u2019s seat, making it easier to grasp, while the S63 feels like it turns as a whole.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-9298\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_5329-1024x683-800x534.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>However, if you look at it from a \u2018comfort\u2019 standpoint, this evaluation reverses,<\/strong> so ultimately it depends on what you want from your car.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Engine_Sound\"><\/span>Engine Sound<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>When you switch the S63 to Sport mode, it emits a deep, throaty American V8-like growl at a satisfying volume. However, <strong>it\u2019s not as loud as the Panamera\u2019s Sport Exhaust when turned on.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9297\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_7539-700x480-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The S63\u2019s sound is deeper, while the Panamera\u2019s has more high tones. The S63\u2019s V8 rumble is stronger, whereas the Panamera\u2019s tone feels more refined and consistent.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, the blip sound on downshifts is flashier on the S63, and in Sport mode it gives a very satisfying \u2018Vroom!\u2019 as it matches the revs.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Suspension\"><\/span>Suspension<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Even when you set the S63\u2019s suspension to Sport, the difference from Comfort mode isn\u2019t that noticeable. The amount of body roll doesn\u2019t change much, and the road contact feels similar.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, it can feel a bit choppy, so <strong>personally, I prefer Comfort mode on the S63.<\/strong> Compared to the Panamera, <strong>the S63\u2019s Sport mode feels softer than the Panamera\u2019s Normal mode.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-9296\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_0973-1-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Highway_Driving_and_Acceleration\"><\/span>Highway Driving and Acceleration<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>On the highway, <strong>the S63 accelerates gently and powerfully, as if gliding smoothly over a carpet.<\/strong> The Panamera, on the other hand, accelerates as if it\u2019s tearing up the road, delivering \u201csticking\u201d cornering no matter the curve.<\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, <strong>in terms of full-throttle acceleration, the Panamera is noticeably quicker.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Having experienced the Panamera Turbo\u2019s acceleration, I honestly felt \u2018<strong>Oh, so this is it<\/strong>\u2019 when accelerating the S63. Beyond the physical speed difference, factors like <strong>\u201cthrottle play\u201d and \u201cresponse timing\u201d<\/strong> probably make it feel that way.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the S63\u2019s engine specs look better on paper, the Panamera is clearly faster. This is another example of how <strong>Porsche\u2019s official figures often underestimate the real performance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Whats_the_Biggest_Difference_Between_the_Panamera_and_S63\"><\/span>What\u2019s the Biggest Difference Between the Panamera and S63?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Based on all this, I think the biggest difference when comparing the S63 and Panamera is<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">the \u201chandling,\u201d or more precisely, the \u201cfeel transmitted through the steering wheel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With the S63, it\u2019s hard to distinguish differences in asphalt texture; <strong>it feels like you\u2019re driving on a carpet no matter the surface.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But this doesn\u2019t mean the steering feedback is weak like some Japanese luxury cars; <strong>the NVH is well isolated, yet the steering still provides solid feedback.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-9299\" src=\"https:\/\/www.panamera-life.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_0866-800x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Panamera, on the other hand, clearly communicates the asphalt\u2019s condition and always delivers a strong sense of road contact.<\/strong> All four wheels grip and hold firmly, letting you feel the roughness, smoothness, and bumps of the road.<\/p>\n<p>That said, <strong>the ride isn\u2019t harsh at all.<\/strong> It\u2019s hard to explain, but maybe calling it a \u201cfirm yet comfortable ride\u201d helps a bit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">The second point is the difference in \u201cthrottle response.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The S63\u2019s throttle response feels like <strong>the driver has to clearly express the intention to accelerate.<\/strong> This doesn\u2019t mean it lacks power or the engine is slow to respond.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s more like <strong>the car seems to confirm the driver\u2019s intent, with a slight pause before accelerating.<\/strong> When you press the throttle firmly, the car responds, \u201cOkay, I\u2019m accelerating now,\u201d and then the acceleration begins.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, <strong>the Panamera responds instantly to even slight changes in throttle pressure.<\/strong> There\u2019s no \u201cconfirmation time\u201d between driver and car; the throttle and engine feel directly connected, so <strong>when you press the pedal, it accelerates immediately.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So, if you ask which is easier to drive in the city, the S63 is more comfortable, gentle, and easygoing. But it offers less \u201cfun to drive.\u201d That\u2019s a major difference.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"style3a\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Overall_Impressions_from_the_Comparison\"><\/span>Overall Impressions from the Comparison<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If you\u2019re torn between the Panamera and S63, I recommend first and foremost <strong>clarifying your own preferences for a car.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"well2\">If you\u2019re not that interested in driving itself and prioritize <strong>\u201ccomfort,\u201d \u201cluxury,\u201d and \u201cfeatures,\u201d the S63<\/strong> is the way to go.
